I know you are all very passionate CR fans which is cool, while I like him and root for him, he is not my favorite rider so I see things from a different perspective.

Ive read every CR interview and story, heard a ton of podcasts about him, and with him, and heard enough stories about him to formulate my own opinion, right or wrong.

I still believe a few things regardless of you all piling up on me.

1. Chad Reed is a great champion
2. The sport needs more riders like him
3. I enjoy how he races, and how he interacts and lives his life
4. I personally believe he does blame the bike for his results, in his head its never his fault. I guess thats just what makes him keep going and thats fine.
5. I personally think he DID want the brand ambassadorship at Yamaha, bc I actually read in print where he was quoted as saying it, and I heard him say it with his own voice on a podcast. If Yamaha would have said you are the brand ambassador after last year he would have taken it.
6. He will be missed when he is gone, just like I miss RC, JS7, RD5, Trey Canard and others.

You missed speech after speech on the podium where Reed said he rode like crap, even lacking pc sense, saying he rode like a girl. And in this recent interview saying his rookie riding cost him valuable points in 2003.

CR is racing Monza Rally and A1 is one month away. I'm not so sure about this anymore, i don't think he and JGR will get the deal done, that is my gut feeling. Unfortunately.

was it 13 he endowed behind rv when he was following him? DAM HONDAS, ET SHOULDER, CANARD AT WASHOUGAL, , REED PANIC REV/CRASH bikes are twitchy must be the duel muffs..... barcha most of the time he was on the track ....lol

It was 2012. That crash was more about missing a tricky line he was using in the sand(?).

So Jason weigandt basically stamped that Reed will be at A1 with JGR so I guess us fans have nothing to worry about

KYB that Trey and Cole used was air btw.

He had that booked in a long time ago he’s an ambassador for the company he’s driving for same reason he was in Italy promoting the GP

From a personal conversation I had with Chad, he didn't seem to care for the 13-16 chassis as well.

Barcia was there in '13... and in '14. Eventually Honda allowed the use of KYB air instead of solely Showa at the end of '14.
But Reed was able to convince Honda to let him run his 2012 fork on his 2013 SX bike and his results didn't improve.

Reed never directly bashes the bike... he bashes the setup of the bike and the lack of ability to change it on occasion

I have no doubt he is on a JGR bike for 19. They may not have the money figured out for salary, but i bet he has Boost as a personal sponsor if nothing else. I don't see anything wrong with him doing rally in Italy, he doesn't have a contract saying he can't, so why not go have some fun and make some money as well.

Man you seam to read into things that are not there a lot of the time and kind of state them as facts. The only truth is, a lot of us will never know the reasons why things did or did not work out. We all love to talk about our favourite riders and bench race, but saying who or who did not like a type or fork form 5 years ago and then stating it directly affected their results it just clutching at straws as there is way to many factors in this sport, even Lady Luck plays a huge part. Peace ✌️

Can only go on what he said at the time and i've definitely listened and read every interview he's ever done at least once. Not reading in to anything, just going by what was actually said by the athlete, which is a step many seem to miss, it's usually just personal feeling influencing the poster... If ML has a personal conversation with him, that's different, but I don't think he was on tape mid 2013 SX season saying this frame sucks... different or he's struggling to find comfort, sure, but for the most part he was talking about suspension and front end comfort.

Like I said, difference with him is he doesn't seem to care if it offends, if he thinks it's true he has said it, but as I pointed out in the list I posted earlier, it's not like he's been out to lunch where everyone loved a bike and he hated it. He needs comfort, he's honest about that. If he has it he's happy and goes fast, if he doesn't, he's not, doesn't and is ok saying it if asked. That's a far cry from whining, and it's not be unwarranted.

The other guys just aren't vocal about it until later or at all... and some of them simply don't get as much air-time as he did either.
