Because he is paid alot of money to know.

I've always been a fan of Tickle, but this sounded kind of strange.
If by that you mean he admits to having been caught, then I agree with you.

Its that WADA and whoever else is working on his case is incompetent. It has taken too long for it to play out. Guilty or innocent i could give 2 shots about at this point. If he tests positive then notify, hold hearing, appeal and get it over within a couple of months. This is 2018, shouldn drag out like it has.

That's the issue most folks have.....

Reading this thread (and others like it) clearly shows that people do think he's innocent...

I am sure some people do think he innocent and some think he took stuff by "accident" I think he knew what he was doing and got caught. Cheating in MX and every other sport is as old as the sport itself.

But if that's the case, why wasn't he taking something that would actually "help" ? From what I heard, it had minimal affects.

"from what you heard" it has minimal affects , maybe it does and maybe it doesn't. Lots of people downplay it and try to justify it just like they did with Stewart's TUE. I don't know and it really does not matter. The cold hard fact is he got caught with a banned substance and is paying the price even though the punishment may not fit the crime.

What might be fractional and insignificant to many, could be a major improvement to others. Nutrition isn't a one size fits all...

Let's say I accuse you of something you 100% didn't do. Then I ask you to verbally defend yourself. You'd be surprised how many ways I - or anyone else - could find ways to take your well- intended words out of context and twist them against you.

Seems like Tickle thought all his supplements we're very legal and very cool.

Since the start I thought tickles situation was kind of fishy. I don’t see how you cannot have any idea how this could of happened to yourself. In pro sports athletes will always push the limits on what’s allowed, and I think Brock just happened to get caught. Didn’t want to cop to what he did or knew, and played dumb to try and save face with sponsors and fans. And not for nothing but I still can’t shake the convo pingree had on pulp where he made Brock out to be kind of a shady dude based on some business deals he had with pings buddy. Maybe shows a bit of his true character off the bike

Of course he admitted it. He knows he took something he shouldnt have. Just doesnt know what it was. Unless youre keeping months of history of every little bite you eat its hard to know. If it was a preworkout or something that he doesnt normally track in my fitnesspal or whatever how would he know.

These guys arent paid to know every ingredient of everything they put in their mouths.

Id be willing to bet these guys pay a nutritionist to create their meal plans and supplement plans and then follow that plan. They dont have a list of wadas 1000 banned things and then compare that list with a whats on a can of green beans. Its unrealistic and would make a vacation out of grocery shopping.

You're right... Unfortunately the onus still falls on the rider as they are the ones that will suffer the consequences.

Yep. Someone needs to know,. They are enough man friends, sponsors trainers ,other riders to get the correct info. Bottom line , Tickle gets paid to know. He s the one riding and being in the rig . Cant point fingers now.

Exactly. And "got caught." Just as he loosely disclosed.

What's so hard not to get?

NOT a Tickle hater, btw.

Accused? Where do you get that?

He was tested. And failed.

And to back it up ... he admittedly said, He "got caught."

I didn’t get that impression from him at all during the conversation. There was a part that I cut out where he said that he felt that he was on the innocent side.

MX Sports uses USADA for testing and administration. Their penalty for the same thing he got busted for would be between 6 and 18 month. Unfortunately his positive test was on the SX side, which gets testing from WADA and penalties from the FIM.
"he felt that he was on the innocent side" ` what does that mean?

I think this WADA stuff is screwy and the punishments are way too harsh, but not sure what he meant on the innocent side. Would think there are only 2 sides, innocent or guilty?

Who knows what athletes are up to, or in particular what Tickle did or did not do. Back in the late 90's, I was around the industry quite extensively and was shocked to see the amount of illicit drug use and abuse by some prominent moto insiders... not necessary athletes (in fact all of which I was around were on the straight and narrow)... but so many folks involved in moto were trading pills like candy. I couldn't help but wonder how these folks made it so far, let alone do so quite well... while many others who were clean came and went without much success. Not sure how it is now, but back then, boy o boy...

What surprises me about WADA's lack of communication is the potential earnings athletes lose waiting on testing/results/decisions. Why isn't WADA being sued for every day they can't get out of their own way and deliver decisions?

There are employer mandated drug testing programs in daily use all over globe. Testing/retesting/decisions can be delivered in days, not months and years.

If it was something from Bakers program then you would think some of his top guys would get busted before one of his 5-10th riders.

I think its all BS, but wonder how strict is the list of banned substances? Would an average person/rider pass their test? Would something like smoking or drinking (the day before riding, not while riding) or OTC pain relievers fail you?

A top level rider is probably taking a lot of vitamins and supplements packed with more ingredients than you could imagine. I could see where something taken would have at least 1 bad ingredient.

Read it someplace that Broc said he was getting his own stuff and not Bakers plan. Not sure if that true or not but if he was going off the reservation that would explain why none of the other riders tested positive. But why would Broc not stick to the Baker plan ?

Although I think WADA and this whole delayed penalty thing is so fucking embarrassing, there is a list of "clean" supplements that are available, recommended by the governing bodies. Every athlete is responsible for the supplements they ingest and if it isn't an approved supplement, don't take it. Period. If you do your work, eat well, take the supplements you need that are on the approved list, then you are all good. Once you reach an elite level of fitness in MX, your right wrist still determines your level of success. I mean, mine barely works anymore, so I need more balls and less banned substances....
