KTM should buy Alta. A match made in heaven in my opinion. Can probably scoop up Alta on the cheap right now.

My daughter will have one of these! Wow. Think of how many kids will be able to ride in their yards without the police being called by grumpy next door ?!

Now how are they going to get homologated for LL ? These things will be HOLESHOT MONSTERS. gas won’t have a chance.

Electric really makes sense for juniors in my opinion.
Quiet, very low maintanence for parents new to the sport.
Will be a big hit I am sure!

I don't know about being holeshot monsters. Durham was on the Alta at straight rhythm and rarely had good starts if any.

I just raced my MXR at Glen Helen last weekend and passed a brand new 2019 KX450 down the start straight.

Hopefully that's the case! Grumpy people will always find a way to complain though haha. Just need cool neighbors!

Ktm probably has a bike that is miles ahead of the Alta, lighter and better components. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Japanese manufacturers don’t have something in the works as well.

The Japanese definitely have stuff in the works. How long it takes for them to feel comfortable releasing those models is the big question. Will it be 2020 or 2032?

Bravo to KTM. These things look fantastic.

Wish it was an Alta. But I'll take it. Bought my son a Razor (in addition to his pdub) so could ride at the local pump track and mtn bike trails for practice during the week. It has worked like a charm. Nobody complains. They all think it's cool.

Timing on this will be perfect. Hell have mtn bike trails and a pump track to Rip during the week then take same bike to tracks on weekend. Hell I can probably setup a turn track at the HOA soccer field. It's amazing how much the noise is part of people's disdain for riders.

From what I was told by an AMA rep they already started the process. I know Yamaha has the electric version of the PW and was told Cobra has an electric bike on the way.

I want one, maybe two. But not for $4500 like a new 50 currently is.

Why would it be less than a new 50 if the chassis parts are the same?

Less parts. Different parts. Whatever. I'm not paying $4500 for a 50cc sized bike whether it's gas or electric. I could but I won't.

I’m guessing a separate class at Loretta’s. 7-8 kids will have another class option.

Paying $4,500 for any 50 is ridiculous. Glad I don't have a young kid anymore. And I'm also glad "she" didn't really like riding when she was younger.

I wish these had been available 15 years ago when I bought a KTM 50 for my daughter. She is VERY noise sensitive, and she never really got interested in riding.
Things might have been different with one of those.

Agree it's more than it should be for a 50 but I wouldn't expect the price to be any lower. Heck, just the charger is probably more than a 450sxf chassis.

Yamaha definitely does. Has for at least a few years now. They also released a 65 2 stroke though. I dont think they want to make them until they have too. Just my guess.
