Maybe, but I doubt it. He's never had to deal with the humidity before, that will be his downfall his first year.

Yes but he was also on a way, way better bike. And Covington is like 3 or 4 years older.

Lawrence brothers are both the real deal. But he has to survive SX first and we saw that it took a guy like Roczen one year to adapt. So no, i don't think Lawrence will win a title in 2019. 2020 is a different story.

No. Lawrence is good, but I still want to see a consistent season of him where he's constantly in the top 3 in standings. He rode two excellent MXoNs, and got some podiums in his first full season at Suzuki, and some podiums on the Honda this season. He never gave me the impression of being a title contender this year. Prado, Jonass, TKO and Covington were obviously faster at 70 or 80% of the races.

Big loss for the GP's, nonetheless. Wish him all the luck!

He Is fast for sure, but gives me the feeling that only delivers when he feels like he has to.. for example on MXoN this weekend in front of his new employees

Aren't Australia generally hot and humid since most cities are located along the coast?

Mostly hot and dry really... Queensland is considered humid but compared to East Coast USA it's nun-nasty dry.

I thought his Honda looked slow, anyone else? Maybe it was line choice, I dunno, but on Saturday Pless's YZF looked to be way faster pulling out of the turns.

Sure, we just just skip the nationals next year and go ahead and award the outdoor championships based on yesterday. Whistling

He's a great rider but don't assume he is going to win because he's done well at two sloppy sandy NXON. He is a top 7 guy with great potential. It'amazing the conclusions we come to after one race. Is Glen Coldenhoff the fastest rider in the world?

Bit early I think lol.

He will put up some bloody good fights in SX and MX and I expect he will collect podiums outdoors but give the lad a year to adjust to the weather before talking titles eh

If he can stay healthy I think he will be a top 5 guy and have some real surprises in store for us. I'm looking forward to seeing him here. I think he will be an east coast rider to get the extra time in to train for SX.

I think it may take a year , the USA system of little practice and one day races will take some time to get used to , red budd was more a gp track than a us national on the weekend

Based on how fast the GP riders are Covington, Ferrandis, and Lawrence will be front runners for sure.

Lol... Easy now, Straya... Kids got talent and will be a contender, but AMA Nationals are NOT the GPs (as Team USA learned yesterday, on a very very GP like track, which is very not normal for here). Now, 2020 could be a different story once he's had a chance to settle in...

Lawrence? I don’t think so for 2019. If Covington stays healthy through Sx then he will definitely be a contender outdoors.

These damn guys who make threads on Vital based off 1 GP-style race a year.

Do you think Lawrence will be consistent enough to win the title? Granted he was on a team that isn't championship proven and GEICO is, but cmon guys... will he win some races? I'd lean towards hell yeah. Championship? Good luck.... I'd put my money more on Covington than Lawrence. If I had to bet the house on it I'd probably bet on Justin Cooper or Jeremy Martin if he races 250 again.

AC, Cooper, Forkner, Covington, Ferrandis, J-Mart, A-Mart, Sexton, Ect. are all guys who can win races and are coming back to the 250 class in 2019.

The AMA 250 class is very deep and no one is a shoe in to win a title.

Hunter will do great. Probably get a few Moto wins too. However I think Ferrandis and Cooper will be the guys to beat both indoors and out.

Lawrence and Sexton i think will be the two who shine the most over the next few years.
Both really young compared to the rest of the field and both extremely talented.

I really do hope we see the new version of the RC4 vs CR22 come again. Its going to take a season or so for Lawrence to find his groove within the US. But I honestly see Hunter sitting within top 10 for Supercross with a few heat race wins and main podiums.. And then being a contender for the outdoor season.

I think the extra season in the US for the younger brother Jett Lawrence will be the biggest threat for future of the 250 class. having both aussies on the 250 Honda team for 2020 is going to be a crazy year.

He hasn't shown any kind of enough consistency to challenge for a title... Yet.
He'll be a great addition to a already stacked class though.

Hunter has to get past the SX series uninjured first. New riders and SX = injury most times.
