Two factory bikes for free, one to race with, one to keep. Which two would you choose?

1. You have to use it as a racebike and practice bike during a season, and you have to give it back in the end. No mechanics included. Which bike would you choose (factory or not). You are not bound to any class. You can race a CR500AF in whatever.

2. A factory or racebike to keep to sell or store. A bike of historical value? Like RC CR250 he won 24-0 with, or O'Maras Mugen Honda? Or some present thing filled with carbon.

Sounds like a 1994 Factory Contract.

The answer to both questions is the same. Ron Lechien's 1985 RC125.

No need for any. Got a 500AF. I only need that one bike.

Ok...

Race: Any works 500 from the mid 80's.

Keep: David Bailey's 1986 MXDN CR500.

But if I had to pick my own... DH 82 Honda RC250 Works bike

I think I would want the latest greatest Honda CRF 450R factory bike to race. I would hate to pay for the upkeep to practice on it though.

As far as a collector's bike, any of the MXDN winning Honda's from the 1986 race where O'mara beat the 500 World Champ on a 125, on a hilly track!

I'd ride Larry Ward's 1988 YZ125 and keep Bailey's 1985 Factory RC250.
3/31/2009 8:58pm
He said no mechanics included so everyone that would take a PC 250f would only plan to ride it for an hour? After an hour that bike would be a chassis and a box of parts.

As for what bike I would want to keep, that's easily MC's 1996 CR250.
