Other games....you usually notice hop up parts. This one I can't , or I'm doing something wrong?
Still trying to decide if its a reskinned MXGP 3 or not...
Also, after seeing the customer Stewart setup above, I feel like I need to invest in a PC so i can customize everything.
Also, with the right stick in tight turns push the stick forward to weight the front end rather than left or right.
I'm having the same issue as billtom, I cannot stop sliding out. Very frustrating, but i'm also happy about it. Id rather have a game where I struggle for awhile than to be getting wins and bored with it in 2 days.
Higher gears, mostly 3rd and 4th (edit: for 450).
Gentle throttle (trigger) control. Try and keep your momentum going in and and softly, softly (off and on) feed on out - sort of how you might in real life.
Spend 30 mins at least on each track learning the lines and getting the feel.
Each to their own but I personally only use my left lever for turning.
Pit Row
I’ve also been putting my best lap times on the TC125 which have been close to the top 10 leaderboard 450 times on some of the tracks on PC. Racing the top ghost is pretty fun.
My only complaint is the scrub animation is kinda goofy, wish it was more Stewart/Guillod like. The terrain deformation isn’t that bad - you have to play the longer motos for it to matter. Either way, it’s fun to play while I’m waiting on parts for my YZ.
And im also glad i read everything on here before getting it because i would've had to buy a new TV and controller as well if i didnt know better. Very frustrating the first few hours, but now on race 6 or so in career (Chose standard, but with full weekend and maxed out because i started extreme and the option to use manual gearbox was locked?)
anyways, what a freaking awesome MX gaming experience. Im not even close to good yet but getting a hang of the throttle control and line selection etc and im finally just winning races (barley) against medium AI...
Key things that have helped me is a lot more shifting then before. Use engine braking instead of the actual brakes. Figure out the tracks, each bump can throw you off. Stick to your lines.
So rad. First person is a must. Such a great representation of racing.
The only thing that i would like changed is the freight train AI that has been there since MXGP 1... The whole pack wheel to wheel almost the entire race. But might be what makes it challenging, that they never really go off their very well programmed line?
Either way. Great stuff. If it was any harder than this id throw it away as quick as i did MXsim 10 years ago. Cant spend hours and hours every day to figure out how to go forward. This is a great mix of being just hard enough that you need to be on your toes but not insane.
Overall id say its a 6 beer game, where MXGP3 was a 24 beer game before not being able to go decently fast.
I only play offline so I can’t answer how the online works. I believe All Out is supposed to fix online issues with the next patch. I think All Out has a more aggressive terrain deformation with ruts that actually have an affect on the track not as much in MXGP. In MXGP you can ride across ruts but some tracks do breakdown a little better than others and the better ones you can kinda use them.
I’d say it’s worth buying. The perfect game would be the best parts of both games. I have every mx game made for pretty much every system they ever had one for. But these two I play on ps4.
