A good outcome from what it looked like. That was worrisome.

Jeez, maybe the. PC lads will step up now. Times sure change.

Orange 250 on the top of the box, nice. I thought last weeks track was better (weirdo I guess).

Heal up mentally and physically JMart and grab a fo-fiddy.

I had the exact same injury in Feb. Burst fractured my L1. Also fractured L2 and had a cervical spine hematoma. When I saw him lying there, it reminded me of my crash. Surprised they are not operating now. I was immediately rushed into emergency surgery. The L1 fragments were in my spinal column. 3 surgeries later I’m on the mend. 2 rods, 8 screws and a corpectomy cage where my L1 vertebrae used to be. I’m waking fine with zero loss of feeling or mobility. Many docs told me I’m lucky to be waking. I pray that J-A-Mart makes a full recovery.

Praying for him..
I compressed a couple of vertebrae a few years ago in a high speed highside. Nothing compared to this, but scary nonetheless..
Was he wearing protection?
After my own injuries the past few years, and seeing some brutal injuries in recent times in pro racing, I’m about ready to hang my boots up, or find a safer way to ride dirt bikes...

The broadcast stream of him on the ground was brutal. I know a lot of us have been there but I wish they don’t show that on TV. Something about it seemed over the line. I don’t think it was deliberately sensationalizing the injury (whatever it may be) but the pain he seemed to be in wasn’t something that should have been shown.

Agreed, they'll always cut to a crash immediately if it's a leader/title contender. Once it was realized he wasn't getting up they never went back to it or mentioned it, aside from "he's out".

What a bummer. Red riders can’t catch a break this season.
Or white, orange, blue. The zuk is the only safe bike at this point
Huh....another bike/rider cross jumps on front of JMart and its the Hondas fault????

By your logic the injury to Bogle never happened

I'm being a smart ass. Probably think the same as you.. I don't blame any bike manufacturer for riders getting hurt. But if I did, I could say that canard survived the Honda for years, then retired on the orange death. Millsaps was retired on the blue pig. I just see a lot of people blaming the color of bikes for the reason riders are injured/retired. So I make my sarcastic, non blatant jokes.

JMart is strong, but I hope he has to go through no pain and comes out of this with no problems.

Just when JMart made up some points he gets ruined by Cooper.

You hope he has to go through no pain..?
Well, you didn’t think that sentence through very well. It’s guaranteed he will go through pain and discomfort, he just broke a vertebrae!!

So bummed for Jeremy. I hope he gets lucky and doesn't have any bad complications. Like everyone else who has posted, it has been on my mind all day.

BigMX - Your x-ray reminds me of Doug Henry's from 1995. I remember being gutted when he got hurt, but what a comeback he had with winning the 98 250 Outdoor title, so, there's still hope for Jeremy.

I took his comment as hoping he would have minimal pain once hooked up to the IV pain meds. I've had some injuries that were relatively painless after reaching the Emergency Room.

Have you seen some video that I missed? It looked like they came together in the air to me from the helmetcam, like they both went over a little.

Gutted for JMart one of my favourite guys out there hoping for a quick and full recovery.

Me too. 12 hour surgery. Burst L2, compression T6, T10. I have dog bones around L2 now. Pretty big deal.

I would think from reading about the injury, and seeing you guys who have experience with it that his professional racing career may be over. It looks to me from what I have read that he isn't out of the woods for neurological problems until surgery is over. Praying it goes well for him the next few days.

He's definitely got a challenging date in the OR. If his is like mine, the procedure is commonly called a 360. They go in through the front first, move everything out of the way and do that work, then flip you over to finish off. I have a half moon scar about 12 imches long under my rib cage.

Was Doug Henry’s Budds creek back injury a burst vertebrae also, or something different?

I read about surgeries like that. You need some serious trust in your surgical team. One wrong move affects the rest of your life. Talk about a stressful day at work....

Same thing. I think they invented the procedure on him. Canard had the same, I think.

Yayah. When he released me, my guy told me "every step from here on out is a blessing. Get rid of the bike."

Huge dismount, so much speed. He's lucky he caught at least some downside off the side.
