My only guess would be Yamahas Anniversary Edition, Husqvarnas white frame smokers, KTM and Honda's top shelf bikes. My guess to TX question would be...newmann.

Most likely candidate. Gotta throw the last RMs and last KXs in there too. 2006 RM250 will certainly become a collectors item even more than it already is. 2008 should be too

I'd say the Alta will be considered a foundation for electric bikes. Pretty big deal, so I could see the original being sought after.
What happens when they don't make the battery for that bike anymore? They aren't exactly universal.

I can't zoom in on your pics so I can't read anything. But no that is not the #1 stamped bike.

The final two stroke championship bikes, and also maybe RC era RMZ 450s? I do see values holding steady and maybe even increasing on the 06-08 CRF 450s, but I think that is because they are still good bikes to ride, not because they have any historical significance in terms of championships.
When I look back at older (Revo) bikes that are in demand, it's usually a great performer for that era combined with some pro level championships that year.
09 YZ 450F might be a candidate (SX championship and a fun bike). And let's face it, any RMZ 450 from 2008+ can be dolled up to look like a championship bike for Reed, Dungey, Roczen...

I'd imagine there will be something to purchase down the road. I can't see them dropping an essential item like that for older model/s. If anything they can probably create and drop in a smaller battery like 1go said.

1996 CR250 will always be an iconic bike thanks to MC.. The 92-96 CR's in general will always be marketable IMO.. lots of steelie CR lovers out there. Myself being one of them. Still dialing in my MC replica.. but I do think nice rider replica bikes will keep a solid market . ie, Carmichael #4 Honda/Suzuki 250, JS259 Chevy Trucks KX125, etc.

I just don't see this yr. being sought after as it never won any major US pro championships. Owned one from the showroom floor so I'm very familiar with this model & think it's overrated. I felt it was slightly improved over the 1st gen AF 97 model also owned from the showroom floor.
The 93-96 steely frame models are much better with the engine having a broader powerband in comparison. The 1st & 2nd gen AF's were very rigid & didn't turn well in comparison.

No. His has the stamped #2 frame. At the time, it was believed that was the earliest (lowest) frame in existence. When the Cannondale MX operations closed someone found most of the complete bike that was stamped #1.

Recently got into the older bikes myself and it seems to be quite a big thing here already with a dedicated evo series.

It's the 96 CR 250 I'm after the most, or possibly a 97 KX 250. As to the future; I agree with the guy who said 04 YZ 250. Yamaha's last steel framed YZ and an absolutely fantastic bike all round. The 01 CR 250s are also already very popular and highly venerated, probably in part because Honda sort of screwed up the motor from 02 onwards.

Nice 94 YZ 250 here (not mine or connected with me) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-yz250-1994/163115009675?hash=item25fa…

How about the few years when the Husabergs had the engine all flipped around? I always thought they were so unique they couldn't not be cool.

Now that I have one, I think the exotic TMs will be collectible although maybe hard to come by.

X2. I said I wish I would have never got rid of them each time I sold them off and then KTM quit making them.

I hope they gave it to Keith Johnson, since he was the only one that could go fast on it.

After all, he did provide them with their first 'National' win - even if it was in Don Schneider's old "Four Stroke Nationals" series.
