DC: are you going to score the Glen Helen 125 race, or leave us hanging again? Will we only find out the top 4 and get a few after vids?

Glen Helen is an open 2 stroke race. 125-500.

Highlight vids are better than no coverage but results would be nice to have as well.

Maybe it's the double displacement she's after?

Oh, that's right. An exhibition 125, now an open 2 stroke race, that was once marketed as the 125 All Starts Series Race, that is now on blackout. Woohoo Sideways Silly Grinning

Glen Helen isn't part of the All-Star series/races.

125 All-Star Series/Races take part at the following venues

Hangtown
Thunder Valley
High Point
Southwick
Washougal
Budds Creek
Ironman

I love 125's but nothing sounds better than a well tuned 250. Would be cool to see Villopoto show up on one for the Glen Helen race.

Thanks for the clarification! Cool I was starting to think this was getting rather goofy.

blackdiamond.....Let's see you shoot and produce the video you saw that Kyle / Racer X did. Well put together for a short race and 1 guy running around Hangtown worrying about getting everything and having 3 GoPros running at the same time. And on top of it, get it done by Monday. Not easy to do. And how much did you pay to see that video? 1 click.

If any of the mags / sites need a guy to do video of the 2 stroke races at the nationals, I'm available and have done a few.......

BlackDiamond I think all these guys are missing the point so they jump on the admins/matthes/and the other cool guys band wagon. All the dude is saying is that we'd like to see the damn results !!! What's the reasoning for not showing them?? If the answer to that question lies in OP's original questions then we have a damn conspiracy theory lol.

No conspiracy guys. The Hangtown promotors were asleep at the wheel, that is all.
Still hard to believe, I know. They can score an amateur race in the mud better than this....

Once again, as always, thank you for all that you do for the sport. I've always said that and have always meant it but as a big 2 stroke fan I've always felt the sport has gotten the short end of the stick. Blows me away at how many "fans" and members of the media have made sarcastic and cynical comments towards a fan base that has supported the sport and industry for decades. Now it appears as if many of those are realizing that the vet class is where a lot of the money comes from and maybe we weren't so dumb after all.

Thanks again for the effort on the 125 class, even if it was just an exhibition or circus act/clown show as the current crop of Johnny Come Lately fans here call it. Some of us two stroke fanatics still appreciate it, but the goal should still be

125
250
Open

Wink
I have seriously never understood this and brought it up many times. The media for this sport and its promoters have more fun making fun of their customers than I have seen in any other industry. The owners of this site constantly respond with snark and essentially laugh at their customers on a daily basis. I suppose I'm used to it now, but it never does stop surprising me. I know that there are some wild things that get thrown against the wall around here, but the PROFESSIONAL response is NO response until it becomes an issue that must be addressed. Then you respond with something civil, professional, and respectful of your audience. This place gets a "Man, you guys are stupid type response" and that's supposed to "address" the situation/question at hand.

I am with you. What is so wrong with wanting complete results for a race they promoted?

I took a picture of the score sheet with my phone, but when I turned around DC kicked me in the nuts and GuyBro ran off with my phone muttering something about a blackout.

Not sure there is a conspiracy in play here but the coverage was terrible. Why put on the event if you're not going to cover it worth a damn? I had to dig like crazy to get any sort of results.

No one will answer this question. They keep avoiding it like a wasps' nest. It appears that no one actually scored it! Woohoo Silly

They probably didn't score it.. because it wasn't a real race.. why is this so hard for some of you to understand?

So someone dropped the ball on the results? Oh well. Not the end of the world. By the way, I thought everyone just wanted to see and hear the 125s do their thing?

Has anyone noticed it is easier to find a video or general media coverage of an underwater basket weaving tournament in Zimbabwe than the 125 two stroke race that took place at Hangtown this weekend?

In 2018, is anyone fool enough to think this is an accident?

Over the weekend, 1000's of people have been looking, searching and asking why they can't find coverage of the 125 two stroke race or even simply find out the results and who won? How is it possible that this race coverage is so unavailable? When a local REM vet race at Glen Helen uses digital transponders to report the results, somehow a regional 125 series on a national track run by the premier sanctioning body in the world does not?

Anyone with half a brain would assume this is not an accident.

Are the promoters and sanctioning bodies of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series really that incompetent and out of touch with the sport and the fan base? If so, why the fuck are they in charge? (outside of the obvious reason, MONEY)

The real question at hand is this: Is the AMA, MX Sports, Lucas Oil Motocross and others involved in the motocross cash machine willing to ride the four stroke gravy train into the ground like a lawn dart in the name of corporate profits?

If so, at what point do the racers, aftermarket and industry sponsors that foot the bill to go racing pull the rip cord and look at other options before it's too late?
Greed is a terrible thing. Greed is in charge of our sport. The O.E.M.s make the decisions and the rules. The AMA is well just the AMA, a stupid joke.

I'm not sure, by definition yes it was a race, but you and I could have a running race around the block and it'd be every bit as much of a race as the 125 dream race, and I bet you wouldn't be able to find full results from it as well lol.

My point was it's not a national championship race yet some of you seem to think it should have the same coverage the real motos got. Even after there is probably more coverage of the 125 race than was ever warranted you guys are STILL complaining. (Not necessarily you in particular.)

Yea it was only a four lap race, but it's not like the people working the national just sit around all day waiting for those four thirty minute motos. I'm sure there's plenty of stuff to do before and after the real races that unfortunately makes the exhibition race take a bit of a back seat.

.... awwww... c'mon! They marketed this as a race. For that matter, they MARKETED it.

It would have only taken about 3 people to score it. People who don't race, or even know anything about racing. Just write down the postions of the #s of the bikes that cross the line. Not too hard. They messed up, both the Dirt Diggers and MX Sports. Not that big of a deal in the scheme of things, but if they would have just said that they didn't score it and don't have the full results right away, all of this nonsense would have been avoided.

Well Racer X's announcement of the series indicated Hangtown as one of the qualifying rounds leading to the final at Ironman MX. This is good reason I'd think for people to expect that points would be given and results presented.

They probably didn't score it.. because it wasn't a real race.. why is this so hard for some of you to understand?
Here are just a few reasons....
1. Over 10yrs of shitty ass rules, that are absolutely against two strokes in the top levels of racing.
2. Lots of fans prefer and ride 2 strokes.
3. Of course people who prefer 2 strokes would love to see them race.
4. Finally the decision makers catch on and promote a 125 race series. Hell Ryan Villopoto and some other big names showed up.
5. No results, no write up and admit it was unorganized. Make fun of fans for being pissed?

I guess I'm an old school 37yr old. I grew up with idea if you're going to do something do it right. If you mess up, fix it as quick as possible! All that said I think this can turn into something great and hopefully this was a wake up call to the media and promoters.

Why are you being such a "Richard Cranium"?

Is it asking too much to get results/coverage from a race that was ran as part of a National MX.?
