Your salary relies entirely on the public buying bikes and gear, watching the races and coming here to discuss it.
If the bikes and gear don’t sell, and nobody’s here talking about it, where’s your salary coming from?

1.) The race was an exhibition (and a good one) but there were issues who was in charge, the Dirt Diggers or MX Sports, as we were both busy with the actual race.

2.) It was the first round of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship and there was lots to do for a lot of us, including an Arts & Crafts initiative where we spent the lunch break thinking about ways to not just make but market tinfoil hats.

3.) Each promoter was supposed to run their own All-Star race, and with it being Dirt Diggers' 50th Hangtown, they were all pretty slammed and some things got away from them, including a list of riders/numbers for the announcers.

4.) MX Sports will take over managing the individual events, as last year we were fortunate enough to have Joey Lancaster of the OG Dream Race helping out and solely responsible for the events. (He would have come in handy here, maybe next year we can actually budget for him to come and help out).

5.) Guy B. asked us all not to post any results or show anything to build traffic on Vital MX.

6.) The TV crew works from about 7 a.m. until past 6 p.m. and the All Star race fell on their short lunch break. The overtime would have cost about five times the purse of an unsponsored exhibition race.

7.) I made #5 up (it was actually Michael Lindsey, not GuyCool .

8.) It was hard to hear the PA in the press tent and several news media outlets missed the start (yes, I mean you Simon Cudby).

9.) The fact that there are now four pages on this forum about this poorly planned MEDIA BLACKOUT shows me that #5 should let #7 run this site when he's not doing #2....

10.) Vital needs a BLACKOUTS MATTER T-shirt to sell with those custom tinfoil hats.

I feel like the 125 race sort of completes the event. Kind of like the opening bands for the headline band, or at boxing matches.
Everyone around us was enjoying the 125s. Hopefully it can continue and expand.

Could just call it the 125 mystery race, sort of like Miller blind date concerts.

Actually I am "one" of them. I just read DC's reasons why things went sideways on the 125 racing. I dig that he comes on here and shoots from the hip. I think some of us were hoping/slobbering for more of a 125 "support" race along side the 250/450 racing. Maybe next year...for now it is what it is...pretty fun addition. Peace.

All I can say is it was one the most enjoyable Hangtown Nationals I’ve ever been to. The 125 Exhibition was just icing on the cake. Weather was perfect. Good racing. Could go on and on.

Even got a little hiking in as we checked out all parts of the track and vendor row. Our phones logged 5 miles...probably more than even the 125 race. Cool

That’s ok though! We’re glad we went. On the way home we talked about Tomac, Osbourne, Martin, Roczen, Forkner etc. and, yes, the 125’s. Going to be another great year for the Nationals.

So, reading between the lines, there is no official finishing order past 3rd place. No one bothered to officially record the full results? It's not really a race, just an exhibition. That sucks

So wait, A exhibition race was advertised, rules created about the bikes, ex pros preparing weeks in advance, modded bikes built, no one new who was running it, the gate dropped, a race was held and we only know the top three with the winner being an amateur from the pfft school boy class at a national event with xxx media, industry and fans present? Somewhere someone has got a list written in bad penmanship on a napkin, paper plate or octopus...

With all due respect, to call it "just an exhibition race", or "a clown show", isn't right. It's bullshit.
