You guys are forgetting about the old helium in the steel frame trick. Erases 5lb! It's these kind of things that the kids don't know.

I would only be guessing as to how much weight you could save, perhaps an email to MXA might get you an answer as they know a lot about KTM's.

I watched them weigh some of the bikes at Uddevalla GP. The lightest ones overall was 106,5kg if I remember correctly, which was right at the limit. Are you talking dry weight or with fuel and liquids?

Under 200lb seems almost out of reach when factorybikes in MXGP weighs in at 235lb

It's Lithium-Iron-Phosphate, different battery technology. Best bang for your buck in removing weight from an electric start bike.

235?? a stock KTM450 weighs less then that..

Exactly! A 2016 KX450F weighs 231 with all fluids except gas. A KTM is 227 and a Husky 450 is 229.

MXGP , for up to 450 4ts minimum weight limit = 99kg (217.8lb), with empty fuel tank, and no add on ballast allowed, last I checked. A kg less than US 450s.

The stock EU KTM 450 is 100,4kg without fuel. The FE 450 is probably around 100kg with the titanium silencer?

I didn't know they even had a minimum weight in the GPs. Full works bikes and all.

I am sure that 106,5kg was the number Searles 350 and Strijbos 450 landed on, maybe with a full tank but that was the exact number. There were private ktm 450 in the range 114 to116kg. This was the official weighth and soundtest so no bullshit I am afraid. I also know that Cairolis factory YZ250f was 9kg lighter than my friends Yamaha when he rode MX2 Gp. Maybe someone can explain these numbers but I don't make it up.

Did the same with the Aprilia SXV & MXV.. total loss, just a trigger ring and no flywheel, but really dont think that would suit mx power delivery.

And lightened crank, pistons and rods (MMC was a possibility too ) wrist pins and valve gear.

They save engine weight also buy removing the kickstart bosses in the motor n using a 1 pound battery
