Hahaha so you think Marv just let him have it? He t-boned him for the win a couple weeks ago and now he let him have it even though sx wins are hard to come by? Yaa im not buying that one. He was maybe bidding his time on a pass, then got screwed by lappers, but sometimes you gotta make a pass happen and not wait that long.

Were you guys around when RC went to Honda? I was at A1 in '02 and the booing was insane, same thing when RC took out Pastrana at one of the Anaheim races in '03.

Racing Eli is like dealing with a chick, it's easier to just let thme do what they want than deal with their relentless whining

To think Marvin "let him win" is ridiculous. The lap times between the two were within +/-0.2 seconds a lap all day. They ran close in the main and there wasn't much separation. Each rider made little mistakes here and there, but neither was all that much faster than the other. Marvin got hung up in some lappers and then never got close enough to make a move for the lead. He had chances earlier in the race to make a move on Eli, but had that not gone well he could have taken them both out or allowed time for Eli to retaliate. So he was patient then got slowed up by some lappers. Both rode good races. All came down to the start.

And for the record, Eli was riding insane lines. I swore I saw one time in the main (he only did it one time) he quad'd into the sand and tripled out. It was insane to see. He literally touched the sand one time and was through it. I couldn't believe it, but it was super sketchy.

Seriously some people on here are absolute morons.

That line Eli took doubling over the last ski jump out of the sand section was about the craziest stupid fast thing I’ve seen since James Stewart’s prime. To think MM let him have it is about the most absurd thing I’ve read on here in a while.

That’s bullshit. Marvin was playing with him and could have set him up for a pass if he wasn’t concerned about the backlash of aggressive riding. I don’t know about you but I’ve been watching this shit since the 70’s and I can see when a rider is biding his time and looking for opportunities to make a move. Eli was all over the place to hold the lead and Marvin was back there riding wheelies and having fun. Licking his chops at the thought of the upcoming nationals. Eli’s pace was not unbeatable last night.
Eli's pace was unbeatable lastnight because, nobody beat him!

You don’t think he knew exactly where Anderson was? He could not only see it on the track he could see it on the pit board.

After the shitstorm he received when he made a great racing pass on Eli a few weeks ago I can definitely see he was hesitant to show any form of aggression on making a pass, and we all know it takes extemely aggressive moves to makes passes between two fairly equal riders. If he made a completely clean block pass on Eli last night he would have been bombarded with beer and the boos would have been deafening.

Anyway it was a superb display of riding by two very talented riders. I love watching them on the Vegas track
I said that he didn't know where Anderson would finish. No matter where Anderson actually was at any given time, the best option for Musquin was to win the race and hope that Anderson made a mistake, got bunched up with lappers, etc. There was no strategic play for him to give up any position at all unless Anderson had somehow been knocked out of the race.

Tomac was simply faster last night. Not by much, but enough. There's a good reason why Tomac finished with twice as many wins as any other rider in the series......

Marvin probably could have made a pass on Eli last night but after being bombarded with boos and negativity over a aggressive pass for a win the last time he did that it’s not wonder he backed it down and let him have it. Not having to look at Eli’s pouting face and listen to his whining excuses for losing during the press conference had to be worth the 100K bonus.

Okay, for a little while I thought that you were being serious! Now it’s obvious that you’re just playing around!

Good one!

Don’t know about letting him ‘have it’ but probably didn’t want to pointlessly put himself in a position to ruin the start of the Outdoors.

Oh really it seems like everyone is crying over Marvin being boo'd. Maybe MM25 fans should boo Tomac anytime he beats Marv? I don't really care either way but it seems funny that everyone saying fuck yeah to the marvin takeout would be so sensitive to him being boo'd for it two weeks later. It's racing, you've got fans on either side just like any sport.

Marvin had balls last night. Tomac had a pussy. Balls are weak and sensitive. If you wanna be tough, grow a vagina. Those things can take a pounding

If Musquin is that much faster than Tomac, why would he need to make an aggressive pass? Why not just pass him Early & Clean and ride away from him for the win?

Interestingly, Tomac had 14 laps that were faster than Musquin, Musquin was faster on 7 laps. Here's how the lead grew fairly steadily.

No body was gifted anything. Last night was a repeat of what we have seen for the last two years. ET hauling the mail and winning, MM in 2nd place and the guy who is winning the championship laying up and playing it smart.

Marvin's pit crew put up "pressure him" on their pit board. In my opinion, that was absolutely the worst thing you could do to Eli this particular week. Marvin showed Eli his front wheel in a turn right after that pit message came through, which resulted in Eli really putting on a show and ramping up the intensity. Then a few laps later Marvin got hung up on some lapped riders, which was unfortunate.

Overall I think that was the wrong strategy from Marvin's crew- but it just as easily could have resulted in Tomac making a mistake and I would be eating my words. It was a fun race to watch with them at 1 and 2.

It was a great display of riding by both of them. They were on it....nice to see the 450’s getting out of 2nd gear

Marvin needed every point possible to attempt to win the championship over Anderson. You think he gave up 3 championship points to gift Eli?? Not a chance.

I agree with Kenny, Marvin is mentally rattled from the booing.

The pace those two ran for the first half of the race was insane. Both riders were riding at their limit and their speeds were almost exactly the same, Marv just made a bad decision with the lappers and it was all over from there. As far as jumping the ski jump, Eli logged his fastest qualifying time on a lap where he jumped it, Marv never jumped it and still edged Eli out by a tiny fraction of a second. So in the end it wasn't that much faster and definitely too risky to try and do consistently during the main.

This has probably been said already, I didn't read the whole thread, but it looked to me more like Eli would pull a lead and then let Marv get close then pull away again. He was playing with Marv the whole race.

Yeah I dunno if he was playing with him, but it did look like every time marv came close,Eli twisted that throttle some more and made a gap.
