Steve Stojack, a Chicago boy,,, took him eleven months to race local Florida "feature/money" class and "be in-the-race" but then the dreaded Pussy whipp'n occured.. he even changed his race number to the date of "first fornication"....... Still a fast senior I hear...... Oh, another Justin Jackson of Central Florida,,, could ride Reddick like Ricky Bradshaw....

He's already in my list. Good guy and competitor.

Watched him hold off Bailey during Hangtown '85 or '86 for 3rd till like his chain snapped or jammed...Him and Tyson Vohland would battle locally.

Andris also trained that Jeremiah Israel from my understanding.

dave was never a player except on a 125 when i was racing i don't believe. i could be wrong but coupe was never a factor for me when i was racing. maybe it was due to racing different areas....who knows.

all kids stayed in the 100 125 class for a long time...i went straight to the open class at 14-15. still was only 150lbs. i wanted to be a man..,.you guys wanted to be...well....lol

Whole big crowd of fast B riders 'till they all turned Pro that had Team Green support. Prob Schnell, Davis, Mitchell, Chris Wheeler, Nate Woods, wanna say Brad Hagseth from up north and others, one of the best B classes in longtime in mid '90s...

Knew Upton wrenching for Scott Davis and they both were racing 250 Nats. Good guy.

Dang...Don Ferraro....

Remember Lance Burgess. He was pretty fast at one time.

Just remember him.

Evan Laughridge won the AMA horizon award in 2002 and ran with MC at Mammoth around that same time and went nowhere.

Eric Nye was looking fast as hell for a couple years there too, but never quite stepped it up to the next level, had a decent run at the canadian nationals I think.

Bloomfield and Dan Paladino had some serious speed at one time.....Pat Gomm was another fasty on them RMs..

Yup, Nye is current MX2 champ. Use to say how he didn't look fast, but yet still up on the bars haulin'. McCrummen......Evan Laughridge kinda came outta nowhere and think he won a 125 class crown up north like '04/'05.

Ray Crumb. Memories of when his and someone elses bike got stuck together and he had that fit on ESPN.....think San Diego early '90s....His mom wrote a real nice letter to Cycle News how I helped him get his 125 fixed after he crashed and bent it all up at a Golden State at Dixon....like out of the blue. I had never really read the letters section; now I do....

Jeff Pestana was a heck of a rider and real cool guy. Thought he would go farther.

Jay Mann from Florida and Broc Bullard from GA back in the 80's. Jay was fast on an 80 and even faster on a 125. Did well at the Gatorback national one year. I saw him race in the stadium in Waycross, GA once against Brian Swink I believe. He passed him easy but crashed out a few turns later. Broke his arm or something. Broc Bullard was fast on an 80 and I think he was good friends with Ezra Lusk. Never saw him on a 125 and don't know what happened to him.

Man....i friggin love threads like this!!

Eddy....Old Doug lange started racing again after all these years in the +40 class around here.

Somebody else mentioned lance smail too.......OH man , i used to love watching that tall , lanky S.O.B. ride!

And jason McCormick and Ryan Huffman both made it pretty far....especially jason for awhile. Ryan was another " had all the skills in the world....and wouldn't train" kind of dude!

Danny Ulven....just got up and quit one day. From what i heard was , he just didn't want to race any more and went back to college. His parents we're loaded and i think he pretty much just went into some family business or something like that. 1st time i saw him ride....i was like "look at that chick ride!"....he had some really long hair and was kind of small and petite like a chick HAHA!!

Eddy....fill me in a little here. So darren Currier was pretty fast? I knew he raced a little , but i never knew he was that good.

HEY...remember ol' Rowdy Blaisdale that him and his parents owned woodland! he was our local JOJO keller! Always kind of porky , but hauled ass! I drank quite a few beers with that guy later on in life when he was just managing the woodland MX track....Rowdy is cool as hell!

P.S> DAMN BOBBY!!...i nevr put 2 and 2 together....i didn't know you we're the same Bobbby Myers from way back when! You we're a friggin baddass dude!

From what I can remember Darren was a good rider.
I was on 50's/60's at the time and I think Darren was on big bikes back when I would see him often at PIR ,Woodland Washougal,McMinville,Mtn View ect.. But I'm pretty sure he did ok at Ponca and LL's back then and so did Doug.
The entire Currier family were super nice people , they used to own Vancouver Yamaha, in fact they sponsored me.

I also remember Danny Ulven, wasn't he from Idaho?
They use to have a 2 day race at AlbanySX called the Ulven Forging.

He are some more names I remember from up that way.
Tony Graves
Graysen Heart
Jeff Daily
Don Bisceglia
Mike Bell
man, i raced a ton of those guys.

also,

marvin waldo
stacey thornton (larry wards bro)
grayson hart
scott tyler
rick simmitt
lowell thomson
larry jackson

the most sucessful guy in this thread over one season would be mike biere....wasn't he 3rd o/a in the 84 125 nats on the race tech yamaha?

also Robbie Horton, Robbie Skaggs, and a kid from Ohio back in the early 90's who was just ridiculous named Hayden Richards. a friend of mine who knows his family said in like '91 or '92 (when he was killin the it in the A classes in D5 with some SERIOUS talent) said his dad gave him one year to do well in the A classes, and if he got factory help, they would keep racing, but if he didn't, they were going to quit. he didn't. they quit.

a lot of you are putting up names of guys that did have factory rides. mills rode a factory ktm, as well as a factory connection honda, i think. point is, he did get a shot on a factory level bike, as many of the others named. i thought this thread was about riders you THOUGHT would be factory stars? does that mean get a shot, or get a shot and become a star?

Hey Rick, did you ever come down and race PIR on Thursday nights , like around the time of Washougal National , like 1989/1990'ish?

I remember meeting some dude (125pro) and his Dad ,they were both from Canada.
I remember they had a box van.I think..I remember him battling with Smail like a few days before the National at PIR and doing a huge double.
