Think AC222 is in a bad way already as these moves seem to show that he is worried about JH84 yet he is usually a patient guy and knows its a long championship and there is a very high chance that JH84 will have a big crash.

How long will it stay clean between those guys? One day Herlings is done with it and will park Tony somewhere.. Then the fire will really start burning...

Herlings vs Searle also started this way but went the wrong way after a few races..

There's 15 Qualifiers and 30 Moto's left, I think it's safe to say anything could happen with 45 starts and all the training between races.

Cairoli is losing fans left and right with his excuses and riding style. Never before in his career has he went out there and rode well with a good start and had a rider get a bad start and blow past him.

Yep. He’s focusing more on Herlings than himself, and it’s biting him in the ass big time. I get that he can justify his actions to himself by saying he is trying to get in to Jeffreys head and make him do a mistake or something stupid. But so far this season I have been really impressed that Herlings hasn’t been bothered at all by it and has rode his own races, and it’s making Cairoli look like a fool at his own game. Right now I think it’s Cairoli that’s more likely to lose his cool and do something stupid than Herlings, and that’s something I would never thought I would see.

I have to agree. I haven't got a chance to watch the GP from today but the whole "it's tough for me to stay motivated" is a little ridiculous IMO. I'm sure it's actually true but it just looks kind of bad that he says things like that as soon as Herlings has him up against the ropes.

How soon are you able to watch the races with the "Archive" pass? Ill never be able to watch the races live anyway so if the pass is only like $6 it would be worth it. Maybe Im reading it wrong but is that how it works?

They are available archived almost immediately if you have the regular pass.

Unlike the Camera work. im guessing he didnt want to clean TKO out, but hell, for second on the box, i'd have done it. Been a long journey for him, but nearly there now.

He also said in the very next question that the challenge to get better is also what keeps him going. So don’t read so far into everything in text. The audio gives a much differen tune. Everyone piling on Tony. He’s doing everything in his power to outsmart the fastest rider anyone’s prob ever seen up to this point. What should he do roll over and wave the white flag? Can’t foul him for throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Herlings! He’s a beast.

Cairoli certainly hasn't lost me as a fan, if you suddenly aren't a fan now then you probably never were a fan in the first place. Very surprising to me how everyone is piling on him so far this season. His move today was fine. Okay Herlings outsmarted him and got the better of him, but it was a perfectly fine and legitimate attempt at a pass. Herlings is absolutely on fire at the moment and Cairoli is doing all he can to try and disrupt his rhythm. I'm sure Cairoli would prefer not to race like that, but at the moment he can't match Herlings for speed or early race intensity. For anyone who might be writing Cairoli off though, it's worth remembering that after 5 rounds last year he was further off the points lead than he is now. He always gets better as the season goes on, don't count him out

Yep, but don't let that get in the way of everyone trying to bitch on him.. His eye was partially closed over from the rock hitting him in the first moto. The move on the start was nothin like the move Herlings put on Gajser of the start in the first moto. I don't know anyrider that wouldn't pull that move to get an advantage on their closest competition off the start. It's smart racing, I really don't see an issue with moving over on the start its not like he's running into the side of him.

Lol "the gawd can do no wrong" crowd are out... ac is human and just as capable of being a dickhead as the rest of us and possibly more so as his position of dominance, that is now seriously challenged, has made him arrogant and petulant and a bad sport.

"Piling on him"? ha! No just observations about dickhead acts..

Not sure if am allowed to post this, but the races are available on dailymotion. Also Herlings said in the post race interview that Tony's move at the start was a dirty move.

Dunno, last year Herlings was 100+ points behind, Cairoli had championship in the bag and he still rode like this. He was doing these same moves. Difference is, this year he has healthy, smarter and most importantly expierienced Herlings. Herlings reads him like a book right now.

I had a bit of a chuckle at AC trying to check out how his eye looked in the 'mirror' of one of the cameras, just prior to his interview.

Losing fans? Well, here I see the usual group squealing about him. It's how it is for some people. They squeal about his 2nd moto start, yet think it's A-OK for Herlings to carve up others in the first Moto start. It was the same with Spain.

Go back and look at the clashes that went on between Herlings and Searle. Well, Herlings and a few others. AC and Pourcel - and a few others as well. Starts in MX are veritable Warfare.

AC does need to focus on himself, during the race - that's for sure. He's an Old Man - by MX standards - up against a Young Lion, who has only a few years less experience at GP level than him. It's going to be very, Very hard to beat Herlings, if Herlings doesn't axe himself. And I think he may have finally enough grey matter to not axe himself.

But hell, there's still another 15 GPs, with 45 races (plus whatever other races Herlings may do), and hours upon hours of practice, that anything can happen in. It's a long, long season. Herlings himself mentioned he'd been 150 points ahead before, when his lead of 16 was put to him, so he knows how things can go 'tits up'.

"Tony's move at the start was dirty?"
Well Jeffrey it's not like you haven't done it before?
That being said Cairoli is having to resort to using the head games a lot more.
I would have had Jeffrey down as self imploding by now, but it seems like he has definitely improved his main weakness, his head, he is able to start blisteringly fast ,stay there , then turn it up at the end, just wow!
Where as Tony is going to have to be able to change from his last 10 minute charges at the end as they aren't good enough anymore.
Let's hope Jeffrey winning like he did yesterday doesn'tbbecome the boring norm! ( Good to watch once in a while, but not every race)

Pretty hilarious that Herlings chirps Cairoli for moving over on him in Moto 2. If you watch the video from Moto 1 Herlings basically tries to wheelie into Gajsers handlebars but thats cool... I was worried about Cairoli in Moto 1 but he showed some fire coming from 4th to second. its going to be an awesome season!

As most of the times, I agree with you. Seems like it is a good thing Smets is in Herlings' corner to keep focussing on himself. I'll never forget the year 2012, where him and Searle's rivalry was heavy. But knowing he is a Dutch guy, he can lose his temper one dayWhistling and that is what Cairoli is waiting for.

Someone stated it here before, but it really looks like Gajser lost some weight, i was a bit schocked..

Still a fan of Cairoli but its clear the new dog in town is raining on his parade, You have to admit the GP’s have been all about the golden child hell even letting him run his own number with gold backgrounds.
I think TC realises he’s not the one anymore hence some of the amateur moves.

In an after race interview JH mentioned it, but said also he probably should do the same. So no hard feelings. I listned to AC222 too and he only come with excuses why he has not the pace of JH. Not motivated anymore to train every day, rock in the eye, we going to work to be strong mid en late season bla bla bla. He never says he's faster and i cannot be that fast. When TG243 was fast in 2016 he did the same. Well guess what. If JH and TG didnt get injured last year he still would have 8 titles. He's freakin fast but not fast enough for them

Let's be fair though, last season he parked Herlings twice, once at Ottobiano and once at Lommel, and this season he's tried once (and failed obviously) no contact has ever been made. Just think it's a complete overreaction. O e thing is for sure, Herlings is the best guy right now, and AC will have to dig deep to beat him. Hopefully this year goes right down to the wire

I thought Cairoli was the whiner? What Herlings does every race is complaining all the times about Cairoli's start with the only purpose to discredit Cairoli, this is getting annoying actually. I mean Herlings is lucky Marquez is not racing in the MXGP then, you know what I am saying? So what would he do if Herlings were Rossi after the last few weeks.

Cairoli didn't even touch him and never did so what's Herlings point? Please explain cause I can't understand.
Herlings is a class-act for sure but let me say he is always been an arrogant rider, reason why I never liked him. Thinks he's the god with the balls that can tell anything, lol.
Sorry but humbleness comes first.

To be fair RG95 Herlings was also quite humble and honest when he was lacking pace last year. Had no excuses and just stated it was him who was slow.

When he wins (which he does a lot) he just sounds quite arrogant, which is why im not really a fan.
