I don't buy anything online, I shop local and that is it. I don't care if I have to pay extra I don't care if I have to wait a little bit longer, it's worth it to me.

If everybody continues to buy everything online, there will no longer be any brick-and-mortar stores to buy anything from. I would rather buy from a brick and mortar store knowing that my tax dollars stays in my town and local people keep their jobs.
I do most of mine local as well, people don't understand the drain on the community when they buy everything online. Plus side is I have 2 dealers that try to go above and beyond for me any time i need help.

Hate to break it to you but physical stores are going extinct. Enjoy them while they last

I've spent a pretty extensive amount of time working in small shops, multi line dealerships, online startups, 3rd party marketplace and large .coms- among other types of related services within the powersports realm.

A few things-

If you are a brick and mortar and do not sell online, it's completely on you if you fail. This is 2018 and the marketplace landscape has changed permanently. There are several avenues these days to supplement sales (even make it your primary revenue stream) and it isn't terribly difficult to be a online player, you just have to be willing to learn the process and put in the effort.

Rocky Mountain has their stuff dialed and I'd hate to be competing against their strategy and the groundwork they are currently laying out. They are on another level compared to the remaining .coms for a variety of reasons.

If you want to shop local or buy from a shop, go eBay or Amazon.

Online only for years. Rocky Mountain for all bike parts/tires/chemicals. For riding gear BTO since RMATV does not do jersey printing for some reason.

Can't wait for the day when we can order new bikes in a crate from Amazon shipped to our door. Even buying new $10,000 dirt bikes has become difficult to do at any dealer within 100 miles of me.

Can’t wait until I can order a new bike online and have it shipped to my house. No haggling, markup, dealers fees or salesman

Our local Yamaha dealer didn't even have a clutch lever for my 16 yz250f in stock, to say their terrible is an understatement. I use RMATV for pretty much everything now, the RM bucks coupled with the Race Gas program mean I don't pay full price for much. Used to use motosport but they started charging me tax so now it's RMATV only.

Rmatv for me too. I would use BTO but since I am in California they have to charge sales tax. I used to use Motosport but they had crappy prices in tires for so long I just got used to buying everything from rmatv.

Like others, it’s the convenience of having stuff ordered while out of town, on a plane, in the late evening, etc and getting it two days later.

It is mostly Rocky Mountain MC for me. Great prices, quick delivery and everything at my door in 2 days. I feel for the local shops but them not stocking basic parts is not my fault.

RM has been very good to me in the past years. I order from them every single time. The RM Cash is amazing. I use that to buy my oil filters. and other misc I need. I use Motosport as well, just depends who has a better deal. Rocky Mountain's shipping is fast. Me being in Western New York I can get parts in 2 days most of the time.

My son is blessed with some great support from sponsors, so outside of those items we get direct... we buy all OEM parts, oil, tools & VP fuel with 3 local dealers and our TM dealer that is in a different state but can visit while traveling for work. I’m kind of old school and enjoy having personal connections and relationships with those that support us.

I live in Canada and we have one online shop that is hands down way way better than anyone else. They are out of the east, about 30% cheaper (and sometimes more) than my local retailers, offer free shipping and I don't have to worry about getting dinged with duty taxes which takes away any savings which would be gain by shopping stateside.
What is their site URL Bermworm?

It looks like RM have a good majority of the business on the online world. If local stores had their own online stores with the same method of RM Cash, would you buy from local stores or still RM?

When I bought my new bike (KTM), I was ready to buy a bunch of add on items just for fun and to enjoy the new bike experience. Walked over to the parts counter and asked for a couple of air filters, the air filter cover for washing the bike, and a drum of race fuel. Literally didn't have any of those things so they didn't get a penny other than for the bike.

It's a mix for me. I will buy riding gear online due to the huge selection and closeout prices on last year's styles. For hard parts I will stop at a KTM dealer on my way home from work. It's maybe 5 minutes out of my way. And if it's something I can wait on I use a dealer about 20 minutes north of home. I'm born and raised in a very rural area (work in the city) so driving a bit for stuff isn't an issue really.

Always good prices, clearance items are cool to.
