The dude should have checked up and let them go by as soon as he realized the race leaders were going around him. Instead he kept racing like normal.
As soon as he goes down and sees its Forkner who he went down with, only then does he decide it might be time to roll some sections out of the main line.
I dont understand the viewpoint of people who are defending him. He did literally everything wrong for like 3 consecutive laps
Even if there was no blue flag after Peters got by Alves, HE’S ALREADY BEEN LAPPED BY 5 DUDES. If another rider arrives on to your fender quickly there is a 99.99% chance it’s someone else lapping you. He raced AF like Friese and the 800 in their day when they were getting lapped
Thanks, Premixed112

First of all, like others have said, Alves got a blue when Peters was coming by, and then he passed 3 flag stations with no blue for Forkner.
Second, there is no rule that says you have to move over. In fact, it says hold your line.
Forkner was just going for it and didn't quite get there soon enough to make the pass. Some of you, and Jeff Emig, just jump to Forkner's defense when he rides a bit over his head. He almost crashed in the exact same way just a few corners earlier with Peters. Was that also Peter's fault? Of course not.
Sure, it would've been great if Alves had moved over, but I think everyone crapping on him, and starting a thread about it, is trying to unfairly blame him for Forkner's bad night. Forkner was clearly trying to force the issue, and it backfired on him.
In St Louis before this crash Alves had raced up from 21st to 14th and was dicing with 570 who was in 15th. A blue flag means hold your line and Alves backed off a little and held his line through the woops but Forkner did not go fast enough to pass him. The rider Up front always takes the line he wants.
I have noticed Forkner has a habit of trying to push people around and take them out. How did Forkner pass 5th place 114 Hatraft after taking Alves out? Forkner could have taken Hatraft out too.
Notice he approached Alves with caution, keeping a safe distance. He didn't want no smoke!
Sucks it happened but 2 wrongs don't make it anything right.
I think Austin is fast and has a good future but he needs to either man up and be a bad ass or stfu and stop whining. Right now hes acting like a whiny punk.
