i understand the pump can die, so full of shit that big filter is already at 30h since tank releases a lot of stuff first hours.
As long as you use clean fuel and filter it + change the small fuel filter every ~15 hours you wont have any problems.

One other friend that never changed the small fuel filter and doesn't filter the fuel had issues with the pump on 2 of his bikes.
That is my experience with the KTM fuelpumps. They seem to be fragile.
Replaced with ca-cycleworks pumps and never had another failure.

Now when I buy pump fuel, I always pour it into a second container using a filter before I put it in my bikes.
KTM 450 Track Bike 7 years: no problems. Same service habits as my Husky.
Note: I use VP race fuel on the KTM. Husky: I empty and clean the tank after Baja trips.
Of course the only real cure is to get away from EFI and go back to carbs, but I don't see that happening.
