Pre '04 CR/CRF, RM 2t and KX 2t all use the same brake hanger. I have 3 RM 2t (04, 06, '06 RC edition) and have had a 95 and 01 CR250 and 99 KX250. You could swap the brackets interchangeably.. I did

Suzuki may use the same brake hanger on the RMZ I have no experience with the 4t

Thanks , both you guys! I have the RM torn down pretty far and starting from scratch. I have the motor out and am getting the cases matched , along with some slight porting and possible head mods. A bunch of new bolt on stuff , all new plastics , graphics , seat cover and trying to find a set of wheels for it. Pairing all that up with a new set of clamps and some older A-kit suspension. Thinking I may be picking up one of those aluminum tanks as well. Lots of work to be done. Both you guys and that bike Shaun built....gave me some inspiration to show my RM some major love.

so i got my aluminum tank. they were kind enough to give me the 450 shrouds, but when installed they do not sit flush on the tank. this prohibits the seat from being able to catch the tank bolt . has anyone else with an aluminum had issues with this? any special modification trick which has worked?

Unfortunately the shrouds do not fit flush on the tank. The seat is an easy fix. Just get a longer bolt to raise your seat post. If am not mistaken I believe I used a m6 x 1 x 30mm bolt to raise the post height in order to get the seat to fit. Also you may need to trim some of the seat foam along the base edge.

The Ride Engineering 22mm offset triple clamps came in today after nearly an 8 month wait!! Wow! Worth the wait, as they are beautiful! Big thanks to Jeff Cook at Ride for getting me hooked up with a custom set in blue! Hope to have then on this weekend with some more pictures!

Very nice you have a similar taste of what I would have done in a build like this. I really like the suspension coatings and the brake caliper and master cylinder coatings. One thing that really irks me on used bikes is torn up suspenion on the caps and tubes and everything.

Update: it took some time, but I finally got the Ride clamps mounted up. Since the Ride clamps use different steering stops, I had my brother weld on new ones to the side of the frame and had the frame re-coated. I have also developed an addiction for titanium bolts, and now the bike is littered with a pretty good amount of them. Aside from that, the update I am most stoked on is the X-trig pre-load adjuster added to the rear shock. These things make setting sag a breeze without the use of a hammer and punch.

I just got back from dropping off all my parts for the Cerakote. Also , the guy I have helping me is going to look into making me a new stem for my clamps. That way if I want to slap on the OEM suspension for some reason , I don't have to worry about pressing a stem out every time. My build is just now starting back up. Had to take the winter off as I needed to save ( slow work ) , and I basically ran out of time this last summer. Once I get my parts back , she should start to go together quickly now.

Others may offer it but NONE are getting as much power out of it that I am. The tuning process is key. It's simple but different.

I have a specific tune for this block to allow for just under a 5hp gain through the meat of the powerband. I will set a few guys up with this combo but it will only offer a limited number of blocks with this tune.

Full carb mods available...from bore work to complex fuel circuit.mods.

Full engine builds but these are serious builds. Not the simple puff & fluff of the big name cookie cutter shops. Entire engine needed.

Thanks for the reply man. I actually had my motor ported with some head mods and everything matched from air boot to the exhaust. I was wondering how this metering rod works and how to install it and so forth. Does it throw the jetting way off....as in not normal type specs? Was just curious how it really works. Also.....is there anything on the carb that has to be permanently modified? Like there is no going back?

Flop back & forth at will between the stock block & new one.

Works great with from stock to mod.

The block is made to work with similar to stock jetting.

Basic setup is a bump in the main of around 5 sizes & a pilot of around 45-48.

I offer mods to carburetor. Some mods are easily swapped from mod to stock. Some reversible but not something you want to swap back & forth. And some mods are not reversible.

In a nutshell, the fuel is broken down to a finer mist which allows more surface area of the fuel to mate with oxygen molecules. This means more of the fuel is burnt (& burns faster) for more power. So the fuel is where the power comes from. The system delivering the fuel is just delivering it better.

I don't want to hijack Kwenski's awesome build thread here. But I am curious on what all is involved in this carb mod and what it might cost? Definitely sounds like something I'd like to try.

If the block works out, maybe you would be interested in a port job. A real port job. Like extra ports added, ect. Smooth broad reliable power. Stuff the pros didn't have back then (except for maybe some factory bikes).

Hey guys can anyone tell me what years are the plastics he's using? side plates, rear fender, front fender, front number plate and shrouds. Does anyone know if I could get a aluminum made for my 06 RMZ450 and 06 RM125? Also looking for the factory yellow excels I've never came across any ever to buy!

With the aluminum tank you can run 14-16 rmz450 shrouds and with aftermarket triple clamps you can run the 450 front fender.

As for the side plates i looks like he cut them.

This company is now doing aluminum tanks. When i ordered mine you could only get them from Italy. This will at least work for your 125

Ksrwheels can put together a set of golds for you.
