I plan to get a new bike next year, so I'm looking forward to what is new on these bikes. I may get a Husky this time and hope they don't change so much that my KTM spares won't work (filters, wheels, brake pads).

There is the new shock, but I can't see a different frame. The exhaust mount is now on the frame, but the rest looks the same or very similar at least.

I doubt they have to pay him anything. Just ask him not to post the photos....or he will no longer be in "the know"

Really, do you both wear tin foil hats?

Here's the simple answer, I'm not at the races, I tell David Bulmer what tech photos to shoot based on what I hear or what I can theorize might be different on some bikes.

Why we don't have photos of Tanel Leok's bike? I had no clue he was getting any support or any sort in that way.

I asked for photos of the bike this week. We'll see what we get.

Maybe the new frame? Took these from Pit Bits. There's speculation maybe Husky will get an FE type bike.

I think at this point it's safe to say it's no longer speculation. Husky is getting a FE. Deano and Jason Anderson ought to be excited Husky is finally getting the cool stuff.

You can see new head on that Leok Husky. Water pipe comes different place and exhaust mountin directing more down as old was more upright and bent was done in pipe. Looks also more narrow/lighter desing.
Swing arm is all new also if you compare it to 2016-18 models.
Plastic doenst seems to fit upper part where two part meets and radiators are lower/longer.
WP shocks pic one has name Jami (Numminen) belongs to Iceone rider using Husky 2-stroke at EMX300/250 series.

Yes, also from the other side it seems lower and more compact. But I don't think they changed the valve train completely. Still OHC with finger followers.

That's the Magura brake. It was announced that they would be stock in 2018, but it got pushed back to 2019.

longer narrower radiators are a good sign it means they can make the shroud area narrower especially if they reshape the gas tank a little .
hopefully they put their R&D money into lightweight parts and suspension and not into electronics ''no need for fuel&ignition map changing via phone app'' .

The current KTM and Husqvarna are the lightest bikes. I hope that they don't sacrifice reliability too much if they shave even more weight.

I'm really excited to see the bike. I would guess that we will see official pictures within a few months!

R&D is one thing, cost of parts and manufacturing another. Wifi-units can make debugging easier as well for workshops and people owning the bike, and it is a nice gimmick.

Current limited debug/tuning device was like $700 (USCool , and they stopped selling it last year. Mechanical workshop equipment is a shit-ton of money more.

Considering how busy the workshops are, and their lack of interest to bring in MX-bikes into the workshops for debugging i think anything that makes it easier for a consumer to find a problem on the bike is good.

Dont know how many riders that has had electronic issues last 2 years when bikes start to reach 80+ hours, and it is a nightmare to try and fix it with current setup.

manufacturers probably build in big safety margins when it comes to changing the ignition and fuel curves so that the user cant damage the engine by running a too lean fuel map or a too advanced ignition map , so you are limited with how much you can change , your standard handlebar map switch gives you a basic mellow & aggressive ignition map .

good point about the debugging its easier to read a error off a phone than a blink code on the handlebars , I would still prefer production version AER cone valves though Wink .

If that is an offroad/enduro bike, it's probably a speedo/odometer sensor.

I guess nobody in SoCal has a camera on their phone?

I bet we will see a bunch more of the new stuff getting tried out at the MXON.

How does anyone know if this is the factory edition or not just the 2018 model?

Anybody get any Leok shot's today? Others like Herlings probably deserve a good look too.
