I wonder if he has ever thrown a leg over 1 ?
Some of you don't even race, or if you do, you're shit at it (don't worry I'm shit too), so who do you think you are telling Justin freakin Barcia how to ride?
If you can't I don't know what to tell you but it ain't hard. And how fast you are has nothing to do with critical thought or analysis.
Yes you can compare riders, so let's compare riders: let's say Canard and Pourcel in 2008. They're basically the complete opposite of each other riding wise, so.. how were they so close? Or more recently, let's say the man in question and Dungey, Red Bud 2015. Barcia doesn't know how to ride a 450 according to experts yet managed to win against the champ of that year. Great analysis.
Pit Row
You're directly comparing him to his peers. Not me. Not you.
You're also directly comparing with an on track example of how you can do it better. (ie faster).
It's not a live analysis of anyone posting here's ability to comment the second he or Dungey rides past.
Of course, there's a lot of ways to throw a ball. Does he not know how to ride? Of course not, he's a spook. And talented as all fuck. But that's not the point.
In an age of HD slow-mo replays and pros analysis from people like DV, JT, Ryno, Bailey, MC, Fro or GL, if you or he can't look, listen and compare how in-efficient he is on the bike compared to say Kenny, someone he grew up beating, who is visually smoother, less dynamic and who you can flat out hear riding different, then like I said, fine.
But then spare me any comment you'd like to make saying this guy is smooth, or aggressive, or that's a nice golf swing, or that's a good shot, or blah blah blah, because ostensibly no-one knows what the fuck they're talking about regarding anything at all, unless they're a current or pro number one in that chosen field.
SMH.
I dont need to be able to do something to know when somebody is doing something wrong, I dont need to be able to sing , to spot someone who cant sign.
Barcia has ALWAYS been renowned for revving his bike to death, from when he was in a the Amateurs, and while you can do it on a 250F , the physics of a 450 motor mean that when you do it with the big bike, it screws it all up, because the rotating mass of the crank is so much higher, and thus the intertia.
Thats not opinion , its engineering fact .
Barcia will not get any better until he stops trying to sound fast, and just goes fast.
I think Barcia is burned out now. Won't at all be surprised if he hangs it up. He's made good money. Had a nice career.
That inertia acts as a gyroscope, and will will have to be overcome to help the bike change direction, its why road race bikes you ultra lightweight wheels, because not only does it save weight , and unsprung weight, at that , it also enables riders to change direction far easier. Its Physics, not opinion .
When i was building World Championship winning Rally cars , we had to homologate various parts by design and weight, we used to run high and low inertia flywheels, one had all its mass close to the centre , the other had it moved to the edge, so you could alter engine characteristics between tarmac and gravel.
One of the main benefits of that little polygon in your profile pic, is its light weight , and lack of inertia... you really should have known,
Post a reply to: Barcia on a 350 next year?
