I think the negativity that seems to come out with Barcia is that expectations were so high for him, and it really looked like he was going to meet or exceed those expectations. He won a couple of SX 450 races in his rookie season, which is a phenomenal accomplishment. We expect more from Barcia than we do from a Broc Tickle or Justin Bogle simply because he's proven that he should be able to accomplish more. He just hasn't seemed to live up to expectations, including his own, his employer's, and the fans'. He's a huge talent, with some good results, but it'd be hard to say that his talent was truly fulfilled in the 450 class.
I hope he gets a decent ride, and if it's incentive based I hope he is able to stay healthy and fulfill that immense potential of his.
I'll be rooting for him.

I just hope he lands a ride because he still young, made a few mistakes, got injured 3 times at least at the wrong time, but i think he still has a lot left in the tank to make the top 5.

There you go...
Having worked with people who went through a concussion, including getting one myself, there are at least two weeks the patient should avoid doing things such as watching TV, reading books or staying in bright areas. Sounds crazy right? Sound difficult to do, however testing and monitoring brains after a concussion has shown this helps speed up the healing process and get the brain back to where it was functioning before. After that time there is still a slow ramp up to physical activity. ( as a wrestling coach I have had two wrestlers go through this and it drove them nuts, but their brain was more important then anything they would do on the mat that season).
Watching our stars, from Stewart to Barcia, nobody is taking the proper amount of time to heal, NONE of them. The brain is still damaged and they are out riding and knocking it around again. Imagine breaking an angle of fibula and then a few days later deciding to go run a marathon. Not good, it will not heal properly and most likely damage it more.
Barcia has shown the speed, skill and talent to be that top guy, he needs an advocate on his side that can get him to take it down enough to heal while communicating with his team properly.
And, true...only a handful of riders have "the potential" to podium in SX, but when is the last time Justin has done it, even on full factory equipment & with a big-buck contract?
Pit Row
"You're some ragged out old grumpy douche"
Yeah, he's got the hooks in you deep lol
Justin is a year or two younger then me, growing up in NY before he left he was always just a little bit behind me, age wise not on the track, He was never behind me on the track for more then a few seconds. Since he is reaching what I feel are the most critical years as a professional, if he is not going to get the kind of deal that will let him put in good results he is better off going the Dean-O route then settling for some sub-par equipment.
I have heard through the grape vine that supposedly he has offers from more then one team. But I have no idea what teams, what kind of salary if at all, or anything. The only thing I do know for sure is that he better already be figuring this out, and he better have a backup plan set in stone and ready to go. I do not want to see this guy missing for the starting gate in 2018

As others have said..Barcia was expected to win more and be at least a regular podium guy.. but sheit.. there can only be 3 on the steps! I like watching him ride and hope he shows what he's got next year.
Anyways, working at mcdonalds was great. Developed great work ethic, working with a team and hooked up with a few girls there. ShIT WAS GREAT lmao Barcia would be so lucky haha
PLUS nobody ever spit in anyones food or did anything gross. However, I know not all stores are the same and even now years later I critique every fast food joint I enter haha
Barcia should go to Husqy I think hed look good on it
Call me crazy but if that Jetworks series continues to innovate like they have been, I would not be shocked to see "seasoned" pros deciding to take their skills north of the boarder to close out their career. And of course as a former "manager" of the worlds jankiest team, If Feld (and MX Sports) would follow what's happening in Canada then we might be able to have some more second and third tier teams for these riders to go to.
