AMA and GP aren't two different styles of riding, really? I suppose that's why we see so many champions in one series go over to the other and bang out a championship their first go. They all require time to adjust to the different style of tracks.
No, it's called Motocross. The tracks / track prep are a little different and like you say adjusting may take a few races but saying it's a different style of racing is not true.
When I stop seeing Ireland flags flying behind Conor and Mayweather rocking Red, white, and blue I'll agree with you because they sure as shit play up their patriotism.
Yeah...the famous USA vs Ireland rivalry is the reason behind this fight.
And lastly, it might not always be "USA vs the world" for the win when it comes to MXDN but without a doubt everyone is passionate about seeing how they stack up against American riders.
I can't disagree on that. That's true.
But obviously the MXDN is much more than that.
Most European MX fans are nothing like the average, lowest common denominator sports fans, or the majority of those that go to SX / Monster Trucks etc.
Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and supportive of all the riders out on the track. And their support of / respect towards US Teams at the MXDN is phenomenal.
As many said, some issues can be addressed too:
1. Calendar (1 month after last nationals)
2. Money (big fee to organize, big attendance, ridiculous payout % for the riders. Time to stop paying riders in pea nuts)
I believe Tomac could have a break from riding and still show up in England and lead USA to victory..
He can back his program down a notch. He needs a MXDN win at some point.. may as well be now
The one thing is it's a short career he is in and this is an opportunity for something to look back on in years to come with kids/ grandkids to say 'that year I crashed in Germany but went back to England and showed them' - special memories don't come along very often, trust me I'm an auld guy
I'm just going to leave this link here as an apt reminder of the fantastically measured American mindset.

You cannot reason with people this dense, so don't bother. Just let them paint themselves in their gaudy flags and drink Bud Light, like they were born to do.
For the best riders on planet Earth, they are seriously precious / petulant about the conditions that need to be met for them to turn up, which is pretty interesting. I guess that's largely on account of the USA being the centre of the known Universe.
Pit Row
Yes!
But lost, in the nations 1978 won the Soviet team with Moiseev!!
