The reason I have faith in Eli, (ya I know I talk some shit), is that during the Bunch up, you know his orders were to clean Dungey out, and you know he DAMNED well could have! But he didn't, or wouldn't. Why not? Because deep down it didn't feel right. He didn't. I think he's a good guy, and I hope he changes his mind.

Its funny how everything outside the US is deemed 'unimportant'... wish that applied to everything.

anderson goes last year, rides amazingly....but almost has his career ended for? patriotism? cmon. nationalism, sure. proud to represent, sure. patriotism and slamming eli over it is fuckin stupid. get over yourselves.

half the field gets lapped and theres guys turning 15 seconds slower laps than the leaders. dangerous as hell.

Eli is going hunting. Eli probably doesn't want to risk a massive injury for "patriotism" since he has 5-6 more years of major moto earning left (or more)...i'm guessing he drew a tag for his favorite hunt unit and wouldn't miss it for the world.

lotta opinionated bastards on here that know exactly how to make decisions for someone else and have 0 information while doing it.
1. Half the field gets lapped in just about every AMA Outdoor National. Yes there are slow riders at an MXdN but the incident involving Anderson was a bit of a freak accident caused by a combination of factors.

2. David Bailey and Ernesto Fonseca were both paralysed while practicing in California. Do you think they really care that it happened on a practice track and not A1? It doesn't make it any less tragic.

They better stop practicing too. Why risk it! Top riders get hurt all the time doing that pointless, paidless and meaningless riding. And with such a hectic schedule, why would they need to?

Pathetic from Tomac, Team USA just cant handle losing, simple as that.
How can people say that the AMA have so many races..... 1 SATURDAY EACH WEEKEND! MXGP have 19 Rounds, 2 days riding, 38 races, + 19 qualifying races, and travelling the Globe, and still desperate to race at the Nations.
I was at Maggiora last year and felt for team USA, came so close and apart from being a Brit i wanted them to win just on sheer effort they put in, they were brilliant. But the fact that Tomac has decided he doesnt want to go is just ridiculous, and arrogant. Biggest race of the year, and its us the spectators who makes him the money and have the life that he has, and he cant even be bothered to show his face for one weekend and represent the country he so called loves! PATHETIC!
It was Tomacs decision?

20 pages of nothing but meandering, nonsensical garbage. It's like the reply-to-all that won't end.

Vitardistan is hopping.

Someone please tell me which round of supercross or the AMA Nationals has more "meaning" than the MXdN. Also, will the USGP have more "meaning" than the MXdN?

I have been to the MXdN one time, at Budds Creek in 2007, and NO ONE can tell me that race didn't matter to the fans that attended and watched it online.

This race is full of meaning and passion. The fans love it. Riders in the USA of a different era used to love it and went out of pride. Pride of self and pride of country. How things change.

Latvia has only one top tier rider, and I don`t care for his success simply because of his MXDN antics. Lost ALL respect for him and his team.
So I understand how some of US fans feel about Tomac`s decision.

If you are really upset at Eli, don't buy a Kawasaki, or Alpinestars gear, or Bell Helmet, or Monster Drink. Anything else is just talk.

Personally I kind of wish all I had to do was work on fitness, ride a dirt bike and travel. I spend my own time and money in order to do that stuff.

I've read Cam Hanes book Backcountry Bowhunting many times! I'll be deep in the mountains come October. 1st rifle CO for elk and then 2nd rifle for mule deer. Maybe I'll see Eli! ha ha

Tomac doesn't owe anybody an appearance. He isn't exactly dodging the draft here, and to even remotely compare this race with military service is laughable. It's a sporting event that makes buckets of money for the promoters, which really takes away from the whole "it's not about the money; do it for your country" angle. Make it a true not-for-profit, donate the money to a noble cause, and then - and only then - can you justify the negligible amount the teams make. I'll be happy to cheer for whoever decides to represent the US, but Tomac's decision doesn't bother me at all.

Didn't all three of those guys pass on the MxDN the next year?
