But apparently they can't do that because they don't want to race in November/December because if they get injured they could miss start of SX. It's fine to go to Geneva or Bercy in the middle of November though. It's just lame. Its a shame because the timing if it now works fine for 98% of riders, and YS shouldn't have to move it. But if they want to keep US involvement in the event then they're probably going to have to pull it forward.

Stew got over 200k and they did a similar offer for RV but Aldon said no. I'm sure they would open the pocket books up to get Kenny or Eli.

RC used to get booed at races and Bubba got worse....
I don't pay any of their wage so I don't expect them to answer to me.
Can we agree that all fans would like to see the very best racing? I would like to see it myself.

This. It doesn't matter how good you are at something, if no one gives a shit, you aren't making any money. The fans are hugely important

Just curious from what I've read. Why is monster keeping him from racing it?
Monster has nothing to do with him not racing it. On the contrary, being that they sponsor the race (and the team), we're guessing they'd likely rather have him there.

It has to do with the long schedule here in the U.S...and other events like the Monster Energy Cup. And rest, rehab, etc.

Eli likened the schedule here to a meat grinder. You can listen in here, where he explains it.

Eli: "...you're putting yourself through the meat grinder..." on Vital MX

Lucas will be filled with fans and SX will make money even if Tomac is a no show overseas as will the MEC and every outdoor National.

Guess you missed the point, if the stadiums don't brings fans They won't race at that stadium, so fans are very important to this sport. I didn't mean tomac, riders come and go. Superstars bring more fans in every sport. Yea, fuck the fans, great idea

I believe he has to do the USGP in Florida. MXDN is a few weeks later in October than the next weekend is Monster cup. If he keeps riding outdoors he won't have enough time to prep for Monster cup and SX season. The riders only have November and December not racing, that's only 8 weekends out of the year they are home.

That all seems like enough reasoning for me not to race.

Same here. I guess with the crazy U.S. schedule the top guys have different priorities than the next level of riders so we can cheer on our B team.

Edit- I will add that even though I wasn't a professional athlete when I was Eli's age I did put Elk season ahead of anything else. I worked all year for that reason.

Oh well.

Tomac will whip them all in the GP, the Euros will say "The GP riders weren't trying, meaningless race, etc."

Poster "Yep" will continue to spew like a leaking colostomy bag under 600 psi of pressure.

Same shit, different day/year.

If ET3 doesn't want to represent, fine. It is a free country. I did hope he'd go.

Next Man UP!

Send Henry Miller!

The prestigious mxdn watched around the world flying the flag for your country or the one off hybrid supercross race built around money.

Pretty piss poor but that's his decision.

Next year, when it's in America and Eli wants to go I hope they tell him no.

This X1000!

He should not be given the opportunity represent our country again, especially next year on home soil. Guys like A-Mart and Osborne who rode it for team Puerto Rico just because they wanted to be there, or Webb or Barcia who race just because they like racing should be given the chances. For me, if a 'B' team went and managed to win, that would be the ultimate.
You guys act as if Tomac has never gone to the event.. he's gone as many or more times than most of the people you just listed, except Barcia. Tomac has gone over there and rode his ass off for team USA as have all the people you mentioned. It's just in the grand scheme of things that race really isn't that important, maybe I'd feel differently if my country could field a team that could win, but that's just my opinion.

Not to mention if the USA wants to win on their home soil having Tomac would be a huge asset, GP riders are no joke.

Can't remember exactly what the purse breakdown is but I know it's not much - something like $4K for the winning 'team'. However Youthstream also pay every participating team $3K worth of travel expenses which means in total they pay out over $100K towards the riders/teams.

I'm pretty sure Tomac earned $100,000 at the MEC last year!

Draw the line somewhere? It's one race, but one of the most prestigious in the history of Moto. Guys like you and me would give up our left nut for the Privilege. Some things are worth more than money, like heads up showing the entire world that you are the baddest dude on the planet, all the while representing your country.

I'd rather have him not go if his heart isn't in it. I'm not sure what Anderson's health status is or Barcia after yesterday but I think those two along with Osborne would make a strong team.
