Here is a look at the silencer mounted up early in the build. I polished up the end a bit for that something extra.

I sanded and shined the stock foot pegs along with the hardware and they look nice. These titanium footpegs are tough to bring to a shine!!

But I wasn't happy with them.
These just happened to show up, no idea how. Whistling Evil







The craftsmanship on these is stunning. Nicest welds in the universe.

Love those pegs! I bet they are much tougher than the stock ones. Good thing you replaced them.

Jesus this bike is amazing!! Absolutely love it man, and I bet your father would too. So many nice parts it makes me really want to do more to my YZ 250. I'm drooling over those forks tho

Totally agree, timeless look. I had an 06 yz250, great bike. I admire all the effort in detailing, I can't bring myself to do that, then go get it dirty, so I just leave my bike looking beaten Laughing

Your bike looks to good to ride, but I'm sure it will ride great when you get it finished.

Thanks for the comments dudes! While it's clean it's a rider. I do this to all my bikes and I ride the shiz out of them.!
I got the pull rod for the linkage cleaned up. I need to finish up the ends a bit but it's close. I can't decide if I want to do the bell or not. That would take me a full day to get the bell up to my standards!

I use them for a few reasons. They help vibration a bit but it's not night and day. It's a slower, less sharp vibe, if that makes any sense. I also use them as a suspension mod . They allow fat bars to flex a bit more because they have some heft to them. This in turn it takes some of the spikes out of hard packed choppy braking bumps. Money well spent if you ask me.

Would it be possible to explain or even get some photos of the polishing process you use to get those results? As in, what different grit sand paper you use, if you use a hand held or bench buffing wheel, what polish, how long it takes for a certain part....ect?
It looks like a lot of work, but it really does look good. How well does it hold up? How often do you need to re-polish everything, does it stain easier from mud? Cheers.

Are those titanium or steel bolts? The reason I ask is because I did the same thing to a bunch of steel bolts polished them. After washing the bike and it sitting the bolts began to rust. I'm guessing because the coating was polished off.

Stock hardware. I've been doing this for 17 years to each of my bikes and never had that issue. Maybe that's because I live in a waste land desert that sees like 5 minutes of rain a year. Also the outside air sucks the moisture out of popcorn.. I'm in the Texas panhandle now so maybe things will change a bit but I doubt it. Your salt water air may be a game changer down in them parts.

I will work on taking some better pics of the process. All my work is done by hand or dremmel. I don't have a bench grinder/polish wheel. ill get back with you on this.

The forks require a 14 and up Yzf axle. Not a problem because It was provided by the seller when I bought the suspension. Way cool and thanks!. I had to get it cleaned up though. I used the knurled portion of a small punch to grab the inside of the axle while I spun it with a drill.

I decided on these graphics. They can be found on eBay. I had to make some mods to correct fit but they are fairly close to the 05 oem graphics. Keeping it squeaky clean. It took a little bit of doing to get the silver lines to line up perfect and at the correct angle to flow with the shrouds.. Or maybe I'm not that good at putting on graphics!!

I will be stripping the clutch cover and doing something pretty cool with the ignition and chain guard next.
I have looked for months for carbon covers but they are kinda like hen teeth at this point.

Yeah I'm in the gulf coast. I get all ti bolts from here on oht I have a super cheapnsource so I don't mind it. Didn't you buy some pc clamps from me? They would be sweet in that bike.

I did buy the clamps from you! They are posted above. Getting them mounted up this week along with a few other odds and ends. Missed out on that pro circuit cover you sold!
Keep an eye out this week for more updates. I've got some made in the good ole USA parts in the works.
