1999 Honda CR500 Bought off original owner. Selling off some bikes in my collection. Roughly 10 original hours since new. Practically no wear on clutch cover or frame. Only add ons were FMF pipe and silencer, Devol aluminum radiator guards and a aluminum skid plate all done at time of purchase. When I acquired it 3yrs ago I changed out the original tires, the original chain and air filter. Still has original bars with grips and every bolt is original with the zinc coating still in tact. Seat cover is original but has new UFO plastics with replica graphics. OEM...

You definitely can vapor blast a whole engine! Just have to seal everything carefully. I did on my 06 RM250. No issues

So, I was pretty hellbent on finding an OEM seat cover. Initially had no luck, and bought an original '08 RM-Z250 complete seat on ebay and was hoping that cover would fit the RM seat pan. Of course, the day I receive that package, I find an original seat cover from another 2008 model on marketplace about an hour away..... 20 bucks! Deal. The RMZ seat had the textured dots on the top, while the RM seat is the classic smooth vinyl. I got a stock seat foam with the bike, and tossed the nasty worn FX cover and shaved...

The engine sounded totally fine, the gaskets looked recent, and the piston was in really great shape from looking through the exhaust port. Buuuuut, it looked like crap. The kick starter was nice and floppy (as most of these basket cases are) basically seized at the same time, it turned outward with great difficulty.... best of both worlds...! I noticed that the shift shaft was quite bent as well. Shifter was as wiggly as a wet noodle. Got new OEM replacements. For vapor blasting, everything needs to be disassembled as we all know, but I wasn't taking this one...

The frame looked totally BRUTAL! Wear was pretty advanced; oxidation was an absolute eyesore. Oddly enough, the rust was basically superficial, and by some miracle the lower frame rails did not have a single dent. My good friend/powdercoating guy matched a similar colour (space grey), it is more glossy than the original factory paint, but I like it and it was fantastically done. For those possibly interested in my buddy's services, check out Chromatic Armour on facebook. Tons of pics of the jobs he does on a daily basis. Dude is a master of his craft.

Picked up a really good condition 2007 RM125 from a mate of mine. Going to strip it too a frame and start again! The look of the bike is going to be a clean factory looking bike. Going to do a bit of cerakote on the engine and hubs but not go too overboard with it. This is how the bike looks as i bought it:

To those who know me, I go pretty hard on collecting last generation two strokes (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki). 3/21/2021 2:43pm Finally drug it out of the basement and got some sun on it. Put some coolant and fuel in it, started up after a few kicks. It really needs a new wheel set to clean it up.

1995 kx500. Complete restoration. 89 kx250 tank, upgraded 47mm Showa forks, kxf front and rear wheel conversion and brake conversion with an oversized front brake. Frame has been gusseted in known weak points and kxf peg mounts professionally welded on. Engine has been completely gone through. Replated cylinder, new top end, oem crank checked for true, new main bearings and all seals. Tons and tons of new parts. Here’s a run down on the major things that have been done -Frame and subframe powdercoated -Engine covers cerakoted -Cases and cylinder vapor blasted -Fork uppers anodized -Lugs vapor blasted and forks...

My buddy Jeff built the wheels for me, picked up my suspension from being anodized and lowers getting the DLC coating. I’ll drop them off at the suspension shop next week. Hope to be a roller soon!
