245lbs wet. with a 1.6gal tank. It was 247 with a 2 gal tank. So weight is the same, even with elec start added.

I only compared the 14 to the 18 since that's what I am currently riding. I had figured the weight was saved with the smaller tank, but the fact that it has electric start and stayed the same as my 14 is pretty awesome

I have yet to see one single problem or know of one being brought back to the shop for a weld issue and from one of the leading shops in NorCal id expect to see or hear of one if I was in the minority.

I bet most people dont even check or break down their bikes and check. My local professional welder took care of my cracked weld and the other side also. He stated the other side was bound to crack any time. Crap welding procedure i guess. It was $100 to fix.

I have personally seen two. One was a fast guys '16 450. The other was at a local practice, did not catch the year, on a 250f.

I think they made great changes. 3rd gen reverse motor model. I'm sure the frame issues were rectified. They look great!

Was the 2017 450 really that bad? I rode my buddies 2016 yz250f for the first time yesterday and fell in love immediately.

I just would like to hear from someone who actually rode one instead of people that are upset because it hasn't won very many races professionally and because JS7 hated it.

My welder here in socal had a few come into his shop. Same exact crack. At least the 2018 looks like a different designed frame spar.

18 frame is all new.
Narrower, all new geometry, new cross spar above motor, relocated motor mounts.

KTM deceives people about their weight claiming 221 lbs (oh yeah but that's without gas, oil, suspension fluid, or coolant)
which gives them a wet weight around 235 lbs.

If you race offroad and PLAN on getting stuck in mud or trees, then you've already got issues that have absolutely zero to do with bike weight.
