Got an idio-. . . Er, I mean brilliant opinion on what caused the brake failure, or a genius way for his team to fix it, please post it here. Anything new you would carry on the team cart, like any entire new KX450f to rob parts off, let it be known here. I figure this should clean up quite a few threads.

I think you'll see the team make a switch to the master cylinder they've used forever, instead of the one Eli prefers (which is slightly different) by next week.

A kid can fix a bent disc in less than 5 seconds. Don't need to pull the wheel, cut lines, or anything.
It's about the easiest thing ever to fix next to hitting your wheel against something to align your bars back straight when you crash

Those mechanics didn't know what they were doing, no spare bike ready, couldn't change a complete front brake and wheel in 20 seconds, didn't have the bike set up with quick change triple clamps. Idiots. They should just run a stock front brake.

Seriously though, I'm interested to see what they go with. Ironically enough I had just got around to reading a Transworld interview with him from a while back (I think before his first brake problem), and when asked what his favorite/trickest part of the bike was he said the front brake.Grinning

Did that same company force him into two shit starts as well? Eli is frustrating to pull for because the only thing he does consistently is make mistakes, get poor starts, and digs a championship hole that is ridiculously difficult to dig out of! C'mon Eli!

Maybe they shouldnt have assumed the brakes gender. Maybe it would have worked if they were nicer.

I don't think it was damaged from a crash. To me it looks like they aren't doing a good job of bleeding the brakes and if there is air in there it gets hot and when air is hot it expands. This would make the brakes be funny.

Bazar to have the same failure 2 times in 1 season. I would think after it happening once the cart would have a somplete brake system in the cart ready to bolt on just in case.

I had a Nissin hardbody extended cab 3.0v6 in the '90's and had two 15" CV's with a countersunk power 1000 amp in a box behind the front seats. Loved that truck!

What ever part it is, it appears that a check valve or relief passage is sticking or getting blocked and it might be that the Master cylinder and Caliper are not 100% made for each other.

What ever it is , I'm blown away it's happened twice.

If you adjust the lever so you barley have to squeeze it it will start sticking when it gets hot. Did ET3 adjust it sitting on the start line?

Yup championship is down the drain. Even a rider of Eli's caliber can't overcome such an insurmountable points deficit with only 20 motos left. Smfh

Isn't eli using a different master cylnder then the style rv was using. His the banjo bolt is at the back. With rv his was at the front? I'm assuming they are using a crf front master cylnder instead on standard kawi master cylnder?

On a side note.

What master cylnder does factory suzuki and factory honda use? It's different then the factory kawi one eli is using (it also has the banjo bolt at the back)
