Mark and Ronnie should be in the same practice session, right? That might make for some good video.

12 seconds off the next rider, and 23 seconds from the leader in the C practice,

He is 18 seconds faster then the fastest KTM 50.
Do the 50s ride the exact same track as the Pros?

I like Matthes less and less. Has nothing to do with opinions I don't like, he's just a douche.

Agree, had nothing against him this time a week ago. His stock is way down.

I like how Matthes says it the way it is and does not sugarcoat things.
Everyone wants the truth as long as it what the person wants to hear.
Ronnie should not be allowed on the track, his SX card should be revoked.

mad props for him for having balls to even try. That being said, he wasnt much faster than the KJSC kids. As Matthes says "Lobsterclaw boy".

This...is...scary... He cased the triple his first attempt this session. Then rolled it about five laps, then went for it and landed off the side of the track near the medics...

Out of the eight possible triples on the track, he's done one a few times (the one he almost wadded on). Out of the 13 or 14 possible doubles on the track he's does about 5 regularly, maybe 7 on a good lap. He's never attempted the whoop section...

I agree, dude has had two races now and can't even come close to the 2nd slowest guy. Somebody has to be last, but if you're not competitively in last(meaning at least close to the next slowest guy) then you shouldn't be out there.

So the 50s are running the whole track.... I just timed one who is about 13 seconds slower than Mr. Ford's best laptime.

Exactly, not only did I not have anything against him, but I still liked him! But he's gotten to the point of being nothing more than a shit-talker with a loud speaker, and I like this sport too much to hate on each and every person involved (save for Tim fuckin' Ferry).

That can't be fun. At this point, why is he continuing to do this?

A one off? Great story and more power to him. But its time to say he did it and start telling stories of his experiences.

Serious question, cuz you really don't get a good look at these things when you are not there to watch practice: How do the last few qualifiers in each class look out there? Are they fluid and hit every triple with ease? Does every single other rider in both classes blitz the whoops? Do the last couple guys in both classes at each round look sketchy trying to get around these tracks at any decent speed?

Did anyone get any video of Ronnie Ford last week or this week on the track?

You can notice quite a fall off after the beginning of the B practice. The C guys in general are a little sketchy out there and look like a novice almost. Shows how difficult it really is because at your local track they look like heroes, but in SX I wouldn't say there is much fluidity at all among the C practice. Mostly all doubling through the rhythm sections and not skimming the whoops unless they are easy.

James Stewart in his prime on a 125 would qualify.

I race locally here in the St Louis area, and not only is Ronnie the dominant Vet rider in the area, but he frequently wins the A classes as well. With no Supercross tracks to ride here in the area, Ronnie went on his winter vacation here completely unprepared. His performance sure is humbling to me, because I'm lucky to stay within 5 seconds a lap of him locally. Supercross is no joke!

We need a Q n A with this guy !!!
1/14/2017 6:00pm
To be fair he was 5 seconds faster than the slowest 250 rider so he wasn't the slowest guy of the night.

As much as I like them he needs to ditch the smoker, he's wouldn't even be noticed on a 4 stroke. Being noticed for the wrong reason is worse than anonymity.

Don't stop the swagger! Y'all remember Damon Smith #490 a few years back? Who's better Damon Smith or Ronnie Ford?
