The worst era for gear was the late 80s early 90s with a few exceptions(some Fox and most AXO).

How about plain pants that are light grey or tan, and over the boot ,but not baggy with room for knee braces..
Add a long sleeve cheap plain shirt.
Plain comfortable riding gloves.
Years of dark gear and black seat covers on hot days just don't make sense to me anymore. But anyhow there's my Xmas list

It will sell though. Nostalgic for probably a lot of people on here that had back in the day. At least for me it is, first set of gear pops got me at 3 still have it to this day and just ordered the new release of it.

New things look different than old things and that makes me mad!

This! Emigs Shift gear from 97-99 was IMO the cleanest gear ever, the black jersey and snow camo pants is my all time favorite.

Simple and minimalist gear coming back around to be honest. It's been getting better in the past 7 years.

My first set of gear when I was like 8 years old was the blue thor pants to the left and a blue fox jersey that doug henry and damon bradshaw used to wear in the Yamaha days in 96. Doug Henry and Jeff Emig were my first favorite riders.

Now that I've gotten older, and dont care about style as much as comfort, I love these pants. Put any nice jersey on, and you have yourself a great gear combo! Steve Matthes would love the mismatch gear.

FOX 2007-2009 was the best gear ever made.

Some more symmetrical gear sets. 2018 will be awesome.

Ill be in this year next year simply because of the limited amount of white. For years they have not done a 360 version with red and black:

I don't even think it's just about being clean or simple. Just style. The stuff now is crazy colors and lines that look too power ranger-esque. Older gear that I personally love may be clean or more busy, but it looked cool and aesthetically pleasing. It had style and matched the motocross attitude.

Its just the JGR guys that really took it over the top this year....really bad looking collection of gear. Seems like they said run what ya brung.

Some of the TLD stuff is awesome, but some of it is really bad too!

I miss the good ole days of getting a JT combo with your bikes brand colors and logo on it.

Fasthouse gear is the best looking stuff right now in my opinion. I hate high viz yellow with a passion.

If there is one thing James has done right in the past few years is seven gear. I think without a doubt he set a new standard in the industry with fit and design and it looks like people are copying now. For the most part very clean looking gear. Fast house stuff looks dope also.

That's the only answer. Or trolling.

I think the Alpinestars gear is the worst. It's like they said, "Which colors go the worst together? OK, let's make that."

Can someone show me a few examples of what is meant by "confetti vomit"? I honestly have no idea what that means.

Yeah what in the actual fuck.

The "latinese" era they did was about as bad as fox has been. Fucking awful.

They were killing it in 04/05/06... RC end of SX game in 05 and Bubba's outdoor gear that year in particular.

How'd that typo in the name get missed by the editor? There is supposed to be a "B" where there is an "R".

This is just as "flashy" as today's "flashy" gear, although it's a bit ugly in my opinion. I'm sure it was cool at the time but now it just looks super dated. I'm sure the same thing will happen with today's crazy designed gear. It will soon be looked at as "retro".

KW racewear, ordered some last week. Interested to see the quality. They have been making custom gear for the world's top speedway riders for years. They also made the MX gear for team Poland MXON.

I agree to 100% with you.

The old school 90s gear sets are just as crazy as the modern gear sets.

I feel like some of you guys are just a bit nostalgic, like i said there are so many clean designs out there at the moment and so many different designs and colorways that there is something for all the tastes.

I thought I was the only one who was not a fan of the Shift Retro gear! Actually not much of a fan of this years Shift line up at all.

As I posted in a similar topic not long ago, it goes in waves with gear companies, there companies like FLY who in my opinion had the worst looking gear of all time years back, now have some of the best looking stuff out there.

Thor was my fav looking gear for years, went of their designs for awhile but the past couple of years its back on point.

Shift had some great looking gear in 15 and 16 now in 17 im not a fan. Im sure plenty of other do like it.

Riding gear is all about personal preference, not like there is a lack of choice out there!

I wasn't a fan of this particular style but if you remove those dumbass dog spots it's pretty good looking gear. I was huge fan of the stuff that JT offered when they came back and wish they would have kept the Classick line going.
