My son was fortunate enough to attend the Ricky Carmichael University last year at Muddy Creek, where Mike was one of the instructors. My son is too young to really know much about Mike's career but came away with specifically stating how much he enjoyed the time spent at Mike's station.

I haven't seen it mentioned on here, but last night Mike Brown announced that Ontario would be his last Endurocross race. The guy has been a huge inspiration for me and continues to defy age like nobody else. He came into the night third in points behind only Colton and Cody, and although I think he slipped back to fourth once the night concluded, that is still a very impressive series result. Every time I've talked to him he has been very friendly and seems like a really nice guy, and I'm sad that this was probably the last time that I'll see him race. Considering what he has accomplished throughout his career and just how long it's spanned is simply remarkable, truly one of the best in every disipline he rode. Watching him jump the entire water pit lap after lap consistently last year at the Sacramento round is still the most incredible thing I have ever seen on a motorcycle, the skill and confidence it took to pull that off is something I can't even image. Congrats Mike and thanks for giving us such a great show through the years.

Let's get some pics going, post em if ya got em!

Omg...Do you have a video of that first picture? That makes me nervous just looking at the picture.

I'm a HUGE Mike Brown fan but think Danny Laporte's career might be at the top of the diversity list.

Think 2004 was Brownie's last year on YoT if not 2003.

Dobb is the other rider in top shot. Seattle SX 95 HoT had five riders in the twenty rider 250 main.

Thanks for the blast from the past. BTW my favorite Mike Brown memory is when he won his and HoT's first 125 National win at Washougal 95.

He rode for YoT in 2008 for a few rounds after Jason took a summer vacation.

I heard that he has purchased I- 81 motosport park, the old "Dallas ricker sports complex" from Kirk Hayes.

Kirk owns "jims honda" and sponsored him on the honda that got slow all a sudden mid season .

Mike came so close to being killed one day at I-81 in 2002 or 2003 by a tractor on track when he holeshot and almost impaled on the bucket. You'd have to seen it to understand just how close it was.

The talk a year or so ago was that he and Kirk were looking to go in on some kind of training. I think he would do really well, drawing riders from the off-road and moto background to train. Him buying 81 was a rumor, that place has alot of potential as far as the property but the dirt needs so much work.

Here's a few from the first Texas Pro Challenge at Swan in 1995. Brownie was riding for Honda of Troy at the time. He came down to Texas and lined up against World Champion Trampas Parker, Windham and a bunch of other talent. He dominated all motos except the final 125 moto of the day when his rear wheel grenaded with a couple of laps to go. Charley Bogard took that win. Brownie became a regular at the Pro Challenge. Usually dominant.

I spoke with Kirk briefly about the suddenly slow Honda. I wonder how Mike feels about it now.?

Did he say he was retiring from off-road or just that was his last endurocross? I've heard his name thrown around for a couple things next year. But that could just be hearsay.

There is so much topsoil back in the creek bottom you could make it primo. But all the previous owners have just set out there and dug clay off the bank.

When Dallas first showed up he contacted me and i went up to survey the place and give some track ideas. It didn't take long to figure out Dallas was full of shit.

Sam took over and he and dad built the harescrambles course. If you raced the megaseries in 88 you know how crazy steep the jumps were to flat landings.

It went thru a bunch of people since then , god,it could be an epic place.

Oh, there was a national hare scrambles there in 87 or 88, I knew the course and could not believe how crazy them guys were jumping off line to run thru weeds to pass.

Mike is probably to forgiving. . The numbers i was told on HP ,well, I guess they never figured to be leading on points against the team building their engines.

Not sure he is retiring completely. He won an Arenacross race tonight. 450 Pro I believe.

I went tonight and he won the 250 class but in the 450 he had a bad start from a rider going down. I have some video on my phone that I would post if I knew how haha. He handled them in the 250 class and would have in the 450 if his start would have been better. He was on it for sure tonight!

Yep 250 pro. For 43, he is amazing, but Kyle Bitterman was on fire, winning 3 of the 4 pro mains this weekend.

Shows how far outa touch with moto history I am and, how untrustworthy the dates on my photos are.

Mike Brown is a real class act. Got to speak with him for a bit at Millville one year. Very humble and friendly.
