Doug has to be at the top of the list. Even after the back injury, the two broken wrist? Weren't no joke and came back to win a title in the big boys class
How about Canard? I'm not minimizing Doug Henry & CP377's heroic comebacks...but Trey too has been through some stuff that would have kept most guys off the track forever.
Remember thinking to myself Canard might be done in 2011 when he broke his leg that crash in WA looked so gnarly, that turned out to be a speed bump for him
Kind of impressed with Jimmy Button myself. From not being able to move as much as a finger for six months to riding a bicycle from San Diego to Daytona Motor Speedway ...color me impressed. Add in the fact that he broke his elbow off here in Texas and rode the remainder with a freshly plated bone. Can you imagine hopping back on a bicycle a couple days after this with another thousand miles to go?
Yes these Pro's have overcome some tough injuries,
Although i think back to some of the injuries that we have sustained here on Vital ourselves, yet most of us jump back on the wagon (bike) and do it again and again voluntarily. No big factory contract!
Some of our Vitards have injuries that are down right horrific.
Toby Price with his broken neck ( Baja? ) to get back to Off-road / ISDE/ and winning Dakar.
Any of those blokes with 'scaffolding' on / in their spines ........
I've got a fair amount of hardware in my skeleton, but, thankfully, not there.
Stefan Everts had some career interrupting injuries, that cost him a few extra World Championships, including a ruptured spleen after he'd done those 6(?) US 250 SXs after winning the 125 WC, before his first season in the 250 WCs.
DeCosters reported Death in the 70s, when he ruptured his spleen, to race again in only about a month's time after it, was quite the 'resurrection' .....

Lol yeah I have some "scaffolding" in my back the crazy thing is the only other bones I've ever broke was my finger and my hand when I was younger I guess motocross will do that to you though

Lmao yeah this one guy joined vital to get advice on an injury he didn't even ride or follow moto he just figured this was the place to get injury advice I guess

He's had enough "speed bumps" to make his career look like a whoops section
I was pretty estatic to lift my arm above my head yesterday. Been making a big fuss about it all day
But really, all the top guys have had some bad injuries. Career ending injuries in most other sports.
Still, I think CP and that pastrami guy are pretty high up there. Oh also Craig.
I think Windham had one of the best come backs. I'm not saying he had the worst injury but, I think he came back with the best outlook, completely turned his image around and became a fan favorite. Respect to any rider coming back from injury though, it must be extremely mentally challenging to come back from any injury and pick up at a pro pace.
Greg Albertyn. If I remember correctly, he broke his femur early in SX and came back to win the outdoor title that same year. That right there is a hell of a comeback in less than 5 months.
Josh Hill, he never regained his full form after his flip accident but his leg injuries and all of the complications were gnarly. To comeback and still be competitive after 2-3 years off the bike is pretty impressive. I still have a hard time watching that video....
That's a great list, some amazing people up there ^^^.
All things considered I'd add Herlings to that list. The guy comes back stronger every single time he hurts himself.

Not sure Albertyn broke his leg but Pichon definitely snapped his femur, really nasty watching him drag his leg off the track.

Today, knee injuries, while still a big-ish deal, isn't considered a career-ender like it was back in the early-mid 90's (or earlier).
I would say RC is on that list.

Pit Row
What an incredible feat by any human
Doug Henry would have to be the biggest name on that board as he came back to pioneer the 400 and win a sx race and the 98 MX title.
Pourcel also recovering and almost winning the 09 and 10 mx titles
Kdub is another. He broke his femur but his biggest demon was in his head, and he managed to overcome and have a really solid career on the back half/
Pit Bierer
Magoo
Henry
M Pourcel
?????

Hit the wall so hard his eyeball popped out and brain busted came back to win.
I was at Yates shop the weekend he got out the hospital and hung out. He was so screwed up I figured him done.
Had to throw that in because he gives helmets to drivers now with a son racing.
Good dude.
