a better man than me. I'd have lit motorcycle super store up.

3 year contract and they're out. Wow.

Seems illogical to can the deal after only 1 year. That isn't long enough to build brand awareness and customer loyalty in my opinion.

I think it's a blessing.

Can someone explain to me what the point of a contract is if you can just be "out" when you've only fulfilled a third of the contract? How can companies do this with virtually no repercussions? Are the contracts performance based and allow the sponsor to just quit? Pretty ridiculous that you can agree to a three year deal and employ all these people and then the people who said they would help you pull the plug a year in.

Because then you would have to retain an attorney to sue them for breach of contract.

Who knows, Jimmy may opt for it if he has a valid contract,, but it would cost a fair amount of money, and win or lose, you then have the stigma of suing a supplier in this industry.

This is not the first time this has happened, nor will it be the last.

So Jimmy just have to accept that his teams title sponsor pulls out of a 3 year deal and there is nothing he can do?

If that is the case, we are fucked up as a sport. Total shitshow.

Found that comment interesting also. Couple of thoughts:

- Did Suz want Jimmy to be team manager and get more A level riders? (his team was a B/C team)

- Suzuki backed out when Super Store left or Super Store left when Suz backed out and gave JGR the reins

- Did Super Store leave because they will be the title sponsor for a new JS7 team?

The team was kind of last minute but I expected more from them also. Not sure what they had planned for this year but for the sponsorship money they had to expect better results.

Just a thought, but maybe they would have made him ditch all the people that have stuck behind him over the years. Top Jimmy seems pretty loyal to the people that care about him.

I have no idea what the budget was but it wasn't enough of a budget to build a winning race team. the bikes were terds at the beginning of the season, I know it was a different team but that's why I have heard and believe Matty B stepped away from Dirt Candy. Motorcycle Superstore guys weren't even running A kit suspension, IMO they made big improvements thru the year and just got shit on for doing a lot of testing, I wonder if Suzuki or MS dropped them first.either way it sucks, now there's two or possibly 3 more guys looking for rides. Osby has a lot of potential and has rode at Club for the last couple of years, maybe he will get a shot at the second JGR 250.

I've never met Jimmy but he seems like a solid guy. He speaks well, doesn't act like a robot in his interviews and is always looking to get his team some press. I feel bad for the shitty luck/situation he's been in the past few years. I hope he gets some support to show what he and his team can do.

I guess the next team that gets Motorcycle Superstore as a sponsor shouldn't count on anything.

1 year and they might pull out. Who knows.

With all that being said. I think i have talked about this once before, it's a bit weird how pretty much all of Albertsons teams fail to live longer than a year or two. Seems like such a nice guy, maybe too nice? Companies take advantage of him?

I suppose it's possible that these contracts we hear about might be written by the large companies attorneys and signed by mx riders that don't fully understand the legalities. I wonder how many multi year contracts like this have early termination provisions built in that aren't understood by the riders.

Without seeing the contracts, internet chatter is just uninformed gossip.

It is funny that sponsors can drop teams with apparently no repercussion, but MX Sports can sign a stupid deal with GoPro that screws the teams, and that must be honored at all costs.

Jimmy put together a race team for the 2016 season mid November 2015 with 1/3rd to 1/4th the budget of most title sponsors. I may be a little biased, but he also had one of the nicest presentations in the pits.

More exposure for the dollar could not have been possible in this industry.

is Moto Superstore moving over to the RCH team as I had heard? They're rumored to have a 3 person team (Bogle, Tickle, Wilson) and after losing Jimmy Johns (allegedly) they need some $ to step in and fill that gap. Also saving on Roczen's mega salary will help, hence the 3 man effort now.

Total bummer for Jimmy's team, if anyone saw their video series last year it was definitely a last minute effort, so one would assume things were left out or corner's were cut. Understandable though - I think they put together a good effort given the circumstances. I think they could have made some great moves forward in year 2 with the team. Too bad the title sponsor didn't/couldn't see that vision of building each year.

Agreed, I loved the bikes. I was hoping for a top tier rider was my point. I m pretty sure it comes down to money. I would think a higher profile rider would attract sponsors.

Suzuki wanted them to give ride for Brian Hsu and run 250 Factory support team but they didn't want? Then Suzuki went away (JGR) and Super Store to RCH...
Without more info Super Store doesn't look good in consumer eyes.. some might not buy again.

I thought jimmy was doing a good thing. They didn't get any results but with those kits, gears and exposure of the team they got me as a fan from the beginning.

Between their pit 'look' and the videos they did, they provided a lot more exposure than some teams with much 'bigger names' and way bigger budgets.

Without a doubt they were a stand out 250 team. I would say almost as good as a PC/TLD/ etc 250 team.

Motorcycle Super Store has lost me as a potential customer. Did they really expect those guys to win right out of the gate? Give me a break.
10/17/2016 4:10pm
I call BS on Jimmy turning down factory Suzuki support for his team. There's no way he turns that down so he can be a privateer next year like he said in the podcast. I suspect Suzuki didn't like something about the program so they gave the support to JGR instead. This is purely speculation on my part and not to be taken as fact.
