No. I would love to see Millsaps surprise us and take a few wins and throw his hat in the mix.

Dungey wont do it with tomac and roczen in the mix. I think those two have improved greatly this summer. Lets be honest though, dungey is no RV. Not even close.

The guy sits out half of outdoors and we forget how dominant he was last year.

This happens every year with Dungey....remember last year when everyone was picking Roczen and Tomac, they said he would never win another championship blah blah blah....same shit different year

He won 9 out of 17 rounds this year, worse finish of a 4th at only one race if I remember right. He is very capable.

Tomac will not be a factor for dungey in supercross. As far as outdoors goes it's a good possibility l, but he will have to keep his bike no less than 4th place every moto. Dungey will give Roczen fits every race. Dungey will do what he does does best 1st-3rd every weekend and show everyone once again just how good he really is. I'll place a bet Dungey wins 2017 sx title. Outdoors is going to be a good show. Hell I'll bet on him for outdoors as well for 17. As far as making 4 in a row to many variables. Personally I'd like to see Anderson get a sx title.

Dungeys greatest thing going for him isn't his speed, although blistering fast when he needs to be, its his constant top three finishes. Hes been the SERIES Champion for this very reason. He is consistently in the front of the pack when other people crash out and have problems. He is the epitome of champion.

I'm good with it as long as we get to see good racing.

I think we will.

this . Its mad how every year people just seem to forget how fast and how good Dungey is . Tomac has nt been anywhere close to him over the course of the championship . Kroc has ,speed wise . but His bad races next year will be worse than Dungey . Dungey on the new KTM is every bit as good as RV was imo.

I think Dungey is faster than he has been in his entire career but still not as fast as Villopoto was. Villopoto was always charging and on the edge but still very consistent. This years threats to dungey will be Seeley and Roczen I think.

These! People discredit Dungey because they make excuses for why the other guy didn't win. Tomac is on a new bike. Roczen didn't get his setup figured out til the end of SX. Blah Blah Blah. It's always someone else not doing as well as they should, not Dungey being better than them. But yet, no one says RV won because Dungey switched bikes or lost a chain or ran out of fuel.

RD is the Champ. He earned his SX title this year, as he did every other title. It doesn't matter how or why the other guys didn't earn as many points as Dungey. It only matters that Dungey did what he needed to do to have the most points at the end of the series. That is the single goal of every top professional motocross rider and he has accomplished it 3 of the last 4 times he's attempted it, against the gnarliest dudes you can imagine.

I don't think people understand how much Dungey is evolving the sport. He's pushing it to a level of precision and discipline that we've never see. Every detail of a program is meticulously scrutinized in order to be better. He's pushing us into the Superbike realm in terms of professional racing. He is so consistent and tuned in with his performances and with the addition of Aldon and LITPro, his team can develop a bike at a much faster rate and he is becoming a machine. In motocross, the rider is such a huge variable when testing and Dungey is not part of the equation.

Whether that's good or bad for the sport, you can be the judge. But come on, realize just how good this guy is and why he deserves every win, title, and dollar he has.

Dungey doesn't need anyone to defend him. Especially not some random jack-off from the internet. So save your keyboard.

The mistake with posts like this is the fact that you count anyone out.

Hell, I'm thinking like this...

Eli
Ryan
Cole
Kenny
Davi
Trey
Chad
Etc. ...have ALL won SX Mains.

Then there's Marvin who's grimy faster, Cooper moving up...etc.
Blake looks crazy fast on the KTM.
Bogle, he ain't scared.
Don't look now, but, both of the Stewart brothers might be on 450s...
Are you gonna wrote off the New Euro's that are coming to SX IN '17? I'm not.

So, there's soooo many changes in 17 that I think you're all nuts to predict the same ol' stuff.

But, I could be wrong...

It's gonna be interesting to see how he performs in the first few races back from injury.

I think RV would disagree with you based on some of the interviews he's had. In one of the Motocross magazines after RV retired, he was asked who would win the title and RV showed much respect to Dungey as being the man.

It's a message board.

Great post, tcallahan, and I agree with what you are saying. People have discounted Dungey for years yet he keeps winning titles. The funny thing is that if he loses, all the anti-Dungey nut jobs will says, "See, I told you he will lose."

Offering an opinion doesn't make me a nut hugger. I just think it would be cool to have back-to-back 4 peaters

Agree that there are many riders in the mix this year. And we may have multiple winners which will be cool for all of us watching. Kenny showed good speed at the end of SX last year. Tomac seems to be feeling good on the Kawi. The rest of the group you list may be capable of winning on any given night. And i do believe we will see something from Blake this year as well. Do I or any of you know who will win - of course not, but it will make for a great season.

Sit back, crack a beer and enjoy the racing!
