But then someone mentioned that he walked across the US from the east coast to the west coast with a solar panel on his head and slept behind a dumpster to find himself. What have you done to find yourself?

Well I'll be damned. I had no idea that was him. I'd have to go back through that thread and read what he said I guess. I vaguely remember the discussion and exactly what we were arguing about.

Jap is not a slang term or a nickname, it is a racial slur. People aren't "overly sensitive," they just don't take kindly to blatant prejudice.

There were no lawyers involved in the writing of those rules. One good suggestion is to try and not be a douche bag. Our job try and make it a level playing field.

Hobo Nick = Nick Kleckner

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/03/hobo-nick-kleckner-walks-flori…

It says he's an electrician in this article which might have been where he was at that point. But on the Main Event Moto site it points out he was a personal trainer and a mechanic for a few privateers, including Daniel Blair (who he now does the Main Event Moto podcast with). They say on the site that he walked after his last supercross, and I remember Matthes catching up with him on his walk across America. I think Pookie even made him go out and visit him when he went through Vegas.

http://www.pulpmx.com/podcasts/guest-hobo-nick-sep-2012

I actually like him on the show but he's raw and DGAF. Pretty sure that's the part that got him in trouble with the law around here.

And, ML512, I honestly can't remember exactly what he said about it. Maybe he didn't express what I thought he said. Years of hard living have compromised my memory.

Especially when there's a 'f*king' in front of it, as the person who brought it up said.

If that's correct - I have no idea if it is, but it wasn't mentioned in the reply to it.

I am also among the hobo-ignorant in this thread....

The Newpy's post is way off base. Nobody on DB's podcasts pre-judge anyone for their skin color or heritage. And that is the correct definition of racism. Being blinded by your bias as to one or the other. Using slang terms describing those traits in jest is not.
Period.
THE END.
The Fail was directed at you, not anyone on Daniel's show. I haven't listened to it.

I am 46.

It was all in fun and I don't think that they are racist. But it also wasn't funny.

Another point is that people used to do a lot of things, like put Japanese Americans in concentration camps, for example. Just because it used to happen doesn't mean it still should.

Was Richard Pryor a racist? Or a comedic genius?

I don't know how old you are but people used to call each other all kinds of slang names in reference to their own heritage and nobody got their feelings hurt. It was comedy. And that is exactly what it is on that show.

You have been brain washed, your feelings have been manipulated, and you have no control over your own thoughts as how to make this determination. You need to get the hell out of Newp bro.
First of all, nobody calls it Newps or Newpy, so please, just stop.

Did you just compare the commentary from a moto podcast to the comedy of Richard Pryor? I don't even know how to respond to that reach it's so far off base.

You're clearly coming at full force to defend Nick against being banned on here and also my insight from the show last night, so I'm not sure if he's your boy or what. Did you listen to the show and specifically the comments I'm referring to from about the first 20 min or so? It's your opinion that they were saying those things to be funny and/or entertaining?

Thanks, I swear I was looking for it and could not find it!! You should make it a sticky inside every forum, especially the ABOUT VITALMX which is where I probably looked.

The rules as written are very clear and make perfect sense to me.

I think the show is very entertaining and informative. They have a certain style and that may not suit everyone in todays overly PC society. He is no more offensive than Howard Stern who has a much larger audience.

You have to take it in context, he is providing ENTERTAINMENT not commentary. If you dont find it entertaining, you certainly have the right to not listen, but I would not go as far as calling them racist. If you really follow the show, you would know that Producer Joe is the king of contradiction, as he always calls the Martin Brothers Shady as hell, gangstas. He rags on Roczen and Dungey for spraying champagne on Minors! He says its a criminal offense! Its satire and comedy. Hobo Nick is controversial but also very knowledgeable. Daniel Blair brings it all together and I think its a good mix and very entertaining.

People love to blame racism for everything nowadays. Lighten up. We have bigger fish to fry.

I still haven't found myself. Last report I was wandering around the hill country. If you see me please put a solar panel on my head, maybe that will help.

Saying that you want to go to Japan and kill everybody or burn them or whatever because 1 Japanese guy made a questionable decision on a motorcycle is pretty racist. I'm pretty sure attributing the behavior of one person of a race or national origin to all people of that race or national origin is the definition of racism.

But whatever, man. Be as racist as you want--that's your prerogative.

LOL.....there seems to be some irony in your posts when you refer to MelonFan as "Newpy" (a derogatory term based on where he is from)......but on the other side, while MellonFan seems to have a problem with racism, judging by his avatar he doesn't seem to mind misogyny. Draw! You both deserve each other!
