Feck… One time in my 43 years I actually had the chance to go and was looking forward to it…

Let them have that race. Keep our guys here, no one really wants to go anymore. FIM can suck it. Get your fk'n races out of our country and stay out.

Not even slightly surprised. This is the right decision looking at the precedent of non-AMA events held there. It would seem US fans don't much care...

It would seem US fans don't much care for anything beyond their borders, something I feel permeates far beyond just MX. Slowly become more alienated from the rest of the world.
The phrase I am looking for is Southern California. First of all this time of the year is freaking hot, fires all over. Ask all the professional teams that give it a go then leave. Too much to do. Supercross does well because it is January and it is in a stadium. The rest of the world may not like us, but who do they call when help is needed ?

Its pretty ridiculous that they base it off of having low attendance at the GH USGP... did they really expect that much of a turnout? It was the last race with half the field competing and championships wrapped up.

From my spectator perspective, i live in corona, ~40min away from GH, and the USGP had so little appeal that even with free tickets i decided to stay home and watch netflix with the gf. I dont really understand what they were expecting. In my opinion, this race had about as much appeal as a hot summer nights race at Perris. Along with that i know a total of 5 people that went to the USGP, compared to a national theres closer to 50-100 friends and acquantances that attend. Hell i was more bummed about missing the Slam this weekend than i was for deciding not to go the USGP, all that aside even the National doesnt have as much spectator pull as i would say DITD or Cal classic for me as a local, but i know people from all over the country (washington, carolinas, ohio) that were ready to drop money on a ticket and flight instantly when they went on sale for the MXON.

Basically what im saying is almost NOBODY cared about the USGP at GH, whereas an MXON with full attendance and no east coast race the weekend before, and people attending from around the world? Thats what they need to be looking forward to.
If you dont understand that you are 100% of the reason the race has been canned , then you are beyond help.

Sitting home and not going and paying a few bucks on the false idea that youthstream are getting your money , is just dumb... they got their money already, going to the race gives Bud a chance to save his shirt, and you wouldnt even go for free....

The top and bottom of this is that MX in the US is done... all the guys that come out there to holiday and expect some kind of wonderland are disappointed.. its great to say you did it, but the reality is that the heyday of the 80's and 90's is long gone, the riders are no better than ours and the only thing keeping the whole thing going is Monster Money.

I hate YS with a passion, but i go to as many races as i can to support the riders , so that we continue to have a proper GP series , and my kids can enjoy what i have for the last 30 years.

Netflix... you need to hand in your man card .

Isn't this the 2nd time it was moved from Glen Helen? I thought I remember it was supposed to be there around 2012 or so cause I was trying to talk my nephew into going. Then it was moved to 2017 and now gone again. Oh well, maybe someday I will be able to make one in Europe...Agree what someone else said, bring it to the Argentina track, that place looks epic.
the argentina track would be awesome, but it needs to be in the US this year. RED BUD or Dilla.

Have it at Red Bud or Ironman. People in the Midwest would lose their minds.

Bad business decision Guiseppe. Just like Comp Park and just like overestimating the market for a GP race in So Cal. (I went to both)

MXoN at Glen Hellen would have drawn a huge crowd.

The only way MX is done here if Supercross expands due to Monster otherwise our national series is much better off now than it was 10 years ago that's for sure. Besides don't you want to see a European country do something they have never achieved which is win a MXDN in America to get back at USA for doing it 19 times to them?

Youth stream is all about money. Who will not pay enough, has not race.

If Awood would've said he skipped racing to watch P*rn with his girl and bang her afterwards, OK! Then I would be in doubt. But you can't be a crybaby about the cancellation, when you weren't into it when the MXGP in Glen Helen was there with the same riders, battling the same track. When you felt like the MXGP series wasn't good enough to watch it live at the scene. The reasons from: 'The championships were rapt up' and shit like that are all OK. Very nice.

But last year Romain Febvre got the championship also in his pocked but he gave one of a fight to Cooper Webb and Josh Grant. This season we saw Jeffrey Herlings battling Jeremy Martin and Eli Tomac who destroyed the field, coming back from a bad start the second heat.

You pretty well nailed it. Local MX in America is virtually dead, canceling the MXoN speaks for itself. Its only a matter of time until we just stop participating.

Big amatuer MX is a shell of what it used to be with basically 2 nationals and a few regional type races.

Rumor of expanding supercross and its hard NOT to see where MX is going in the US. The only varible is time before American racing is SX that resembles F1 as elitist.

The discussions about the MXoN from a part of the US side is very interesting.

YS should pay to have the race, USA should not have a team and participate if they don't get more money, no one wants to go anymore etc, etc, etc.

Well i'll tell you what. These kind of thoughts and opinions was never a thing back in the day when USA was so much better than all the other teams that they almost won the race before the gate dropped. Funny how that changed in 5 years time after France 2011. It was the perfect broshow for USA, almost 90% chance of winning and a weekend of fun. Not anymore.

It's pathetic.

One thing is certain. This race will be my and thousands of other fans highlight of the year with or without USA.

And now more on topic:

It sucks that MXdN isn't at GH next year, i actually wanted to see USA win for the first time in years at home soil.

Hmmm, GL announces on Aug. 9th, MXdN at Glen Helen, a thread a week later regarding Monster's interest in an expanded 22-race SX series, a month and a half later cancellation of the Glen Helen MXdN. Something else is going on. V1 (Vegas) in Oct,/Nov. 2017 to kickoff the 2017-2018 22-race SX season?

If the MXDN is not held in the US next year we should not participate. If the US decides to blow this race off permanently, it will die. Sad, but true.

I was planning to attend too. My plan was to visit my family in San Diego, and take them to the race. Damn!

Sucks that it won't be in the states, I agree with that. Every 3 or 5 year in the US would be perfect imo

It will not die, not even close. Do you think that the last races would have had 30% less attendance without a team USA? Probably maximum of 10%.

MXdN will live with or without team USA.

The race will not die at all. We'll all just a have an amazing end of season party with or without you. People on here think the USA's involvement in this race is far more important than it is. There's been MXdN's without team USA before, the event was still amazing

MXDN will die if the US is not part of it. The big attraction is riders from Europe vs. riders from the US. The interest, and therefore the crowds, would dwindle. It's sad, but it is true.

I hope they can work this out so we can all continue to enjoy this race each year. That would be the best resolution.

It seems our opinions may differ, but I think we can all agree on that.

Carry on!

Will the MXON get an blow if USA wouldn't participate? Yes. But you need to give Youthstream credits, they made the MXON a real strong brand and they will find something to keep it going. Also their are AMA riders that aren't American who will race anyway.

I had been planning to attend the MXdN at Glen Helen... I went to the Budds Creek and Thunder Valley MXdNs and they were AWESOME. Especially Budds Creek...

We'd been told that the MXdN was coming back to America every few years but that is not true I guess.

All to do with Cost. Bring the cost down and more will come. That's the problem though is bringing cost down.

Non the less the American team is the draw you get to see riders as fast or faster depending on the event. Multiple world champions will tell you without America it's not the same. Like F1 without Ferrari. Which almost happend until Ferrari put their foot down with the 4 clyinder nonsense.

The attraction of the MXdN is the fact it offers the only opportunity to see the Worlds very best Motocross riders compete against each other for one single weekend each year. All because our sport is so fucked up we have two elite series that constantly battle for supremacy.

Well it obviously was true until Bud Feldcamp and Youthstream realised they couldn't guarantee there would be enough interest in an MXdN held at Glen Helen.
