Travel the country on someone else's dime, get paid for your time sitting on the plane, paid for time at the research center, and paid for your time working at your home office. Bill hours up the wazoo and nobody blinks an eye. Even better when you have multiple clients and traveling to the same cites. Double billing like a mofo. And it's recession proof. Pharmaceutical companies are always looking to make new drugs. Even better when your wife does the exact same thing.
Never said a college degree owes you something. No one owes anyone anything. But if you spend 3-6 years bustin your ass at college I think that you deserve anything that's comes your way. Same with anything. Bust your ass and you'll get there. If you've truly worked hard and got no where, then you did something wrong or got fucked over BIG TIME and I feel for you, but chances are you expected too much out of what you're doing. Everyone deserves to get something out of what they did. If you can't see the reward out of hard work then you aren't looking hard enough.
Working at a bike shop I see people come in all the time trying to impress me and the salesman. Splashing cash out and having everything on tick bragging about all the stuff they have, talking down on me. I just laugh because 8 months later everything is out dated apart from their finance. I'm not saying anything bad about people that finance their bike or house (financing a house is a must and it's pretty standard for dudes to get a bit of auto debt going. No biggie), but I know what materialistic looks like and I couldn't be further from it
Credit cards are separate thing, usually holding a high interest rate. But even some of their offers make sense to use. Think how many "0% offers" there are are. Sure, they're hoping you move a balance, pay the minimum and then accrue interest when the period expires. Sometimes meaning interest on everything from day one if it's not paid for. If you're responsible, plan correctly and take advantage it can create a great financial opportunity for someone.
Carrying some debt of all forms isn't such a horrible thing. It just has to be done right.
How many guys have ten thousand times their age in retirement savings? I'll buy a VitalMX T-shirt for the first guy in their 20s who does.

Never been a NASCAR fan but we were in NC and RPE was there so we did it. The wife did the $200 ride along in the 24 look alike car with a pro driver and went 170 mph average. I decided to scare myself at much lower speed and drove myself with a pro in the passenger seat for eight laps.
Cars are supposedly current Chase cars detuned from 800 to 600 hp for reliability. They put orange cones at the right spots at corners for letting off and getting back on the throttle. They also put hash marks on the track you are supposed to stay between for a smooth line. It was sensory overload for the first three laps and I never saw the cones! And the banks are so steep you can only see partially around the corner. From the fourth lap on I could go full throttle from the exit cone but I could not bring myself to hold full on till the entrance cone. Best I could do was about 200 yards before it. Three lanes looks awful narrow at 135 mph! Surprisingly, the cars handle like a truck and pull heavily, heavily heavily to the left. I was fighting it the whole time. Got arm pump ... just kidding but I was ready to be done after eight laps.
My first lap was 98 and last lap was 122 mph average with a peak speed of 136. They also record you and the pro in the car and another camera looking forward on a flash drive and show both side by side on your computer screen.
I am going to do it again next year for my sixtieth birthday.
Recommend it highly. Pricey but cheaper than two graphics kits or one four stroke rebuild.
EDIT: We had to sign THREE page of waivers. But they werent for you to pay for the car if you crashed. That was covered. It was so you wouldnt sue them , knew you were on used tires etc.
And I nearly lapped the guy in the other lane in the pic above although I cant imagine trying to pass anybody at that speed on that narrow track.
