Dont take that as hating on you, just different strokes (excuse the pun) for different folks.

Nothing of value was offered up and even though you said "don't take that as me as hating" it does come across that way or you wouldn't have had to say it.

Sorry it just doesn't seem right given the guy was just saying he won't let people bother him (so you try to bother him).

Went to Unadilla and he is def a racer. He carried a lot of momentum and got over jumps that others were struggling with.

Normally i would agree but kiwifan is self proclaimed rich and gets bikes thrown his way on the reg. He talks shit straight to the mechanic but i would like to see his top ten results or even a finish in front of Stank.

if he can't make a weekend on a 125 motor, he would go through at least 3 - 250f motors in a weekend according to vitalmx. Good for him racing that bike, I could not do that

I went to 2 Nationals and would have went to the USGP had Stank not been racing in Michigan.

The whole crowd is down with Stank. Nobody cared who was in front of him or behind.

Where we were..every lap. "Here comes Stankdog!!!!!!" It was pretty cool.

How well was the 250F holding up for his fellow (but factory supported) Husky rider, Osborne?

So if he is running a non OEM 153 kit in the top end,a non OEM crank and components in the bottom end, it still reflects the reliability of OEM Husky?
It is very unlikely his motors are being stripped and rebuilt every week based off of his traveling schedule and privateer budget, I am curious to know if they are or not.
hes running a 125 not bored out...

Hey, he's had a lot of fun.
He's thrown it in the mans face.
He's made a name for himself.
He's got an almost Pastrana like following in the making.
Next year, he wants to make a real go at it, what manager wouldn't give him a shot over another 20 something finisher.

And half of you guys still don't get it.

Between the transmission issues and crank issues it is not good. In my opinion a bike like that should be able to last for 4 or 5 nationals on the bottom end. It was already stated somewhere else, but guys used to run 125s all the time and do a top end every other race and have a bottom end last the full season of Pro Outdoors.

Thats BS maybe for true privateers but PC used to do top end between motos on 125s

The best part about this thread is that it's 2016 and we are talking about 125 durability issues at a Nationals race. That's pretty cool.

I have a hard time blaming Husky (though I did have a 2001 KTM 250 SX that blew top ends like crazy). I remember reading somewhere about Pro Circuit having 7 backup motors on the truck and going through all seven in a weekend. Perhaps Stanky and the rest put their bikes through than we realize?

Eric, I'm waiting on husky tc250 in couple weeks. I'm a small and would've preferred 125. I was nervous when I heard of the parts failures you had. Do you think husky/ Ktm made changes to 2017 models gears or main bearings after your experiences ?? Any suggestions to help them live ?
Thanks!
My buddy and I flew to my Morris last year, slopped through the mud and rain, and got to say hi in pits, was worth it just to see you guys battling the big teams and we went home hoarse from cheering.
Not sure if they have fixed the gears from being too brittle and breaking or not, as far as crank bearings. Last time i was in the bottom end, I actually drilled the oiling port holes to allow more oil to reach them. I would like to think it helps but not sure being i have been laid up with a broken leg and Gared hasn't ridden it enough since the National's. Thanks for the support!!

What ratio did you run? The dealer told me like 50 or 60-1 on the new 250 !? I'm old school and my old 125s where 20-1, but no less than 32-1. Sure they have oil laying in bottom ends and smoke some,,but always figured the oil took heat from the bearings as well as lubed them.

Sorry to hear about leg, hope you heal quickly !

We was running 36-1 but went down on jetting. I have always ran 36-1 ratio and never have had a problem.

Run 50:1, the newer KTM's don't like much oil. I run 40:1 in my 150 and it's plenty. 32:1 was fouling plugs quicker than Id like with $10 plugs

There is ZERO correct ratio for all.
It has to do with oil migration times and time at high RPM.

Ask Dick Lechien at Maxima or John Klotz. . Ronnie ran I think it was 24:1 back in his 125 days. Your grandma could run 100:1 as she putt putts around the yard.

I run my shifter Kart at 16:1 and its a Swedetech CR125. Its WFO more than even Stankdog.

Same as a woods rider doeant need as much oil as a guy racing WFO in the desert.
Jet accordingly to your mixture.

More oil= leaner jetting.
Less oil = richer jetting. Sounds backwards but its not. Think about it.

Its a minimal difference but its there. Dick Lechien told me this in 1983.

If youre fouling plugs....youre not burning off the oil film. I dont foul plugs at 16:1 and that pipe is dry as a popcorn fart.
