Drop off just out of the gate
On Tuesday, former North Carolina AMA state champion and 2006 Bank of America 500 pole winner Scott Riggs became the first rider to test the purpose-built SuperCourse at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in advance of the Sept. 2-3 Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas
Fans can buy tickets to the high-flying spectacular that is the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas by visiting the speedway’s website or by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267)
CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 30, 2016) – Before the first gate drops for the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas on Sept. 2-3 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, former NASCAR driver and 1986 North Carolina AMA champion Scott Riggs completed a full-speed test run of the challenging, one-mile dirt SuperCourse on Tuesday.
Riggs, who won the pole for both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2006, is accustomed to zooming around Charlotte’s iconic 1.5-mile superspeedway in a full-bodied stock car. Twisting the throttle and barreling down on a world-class, purpose-built motocross course on which stars like Eli Tomac and Tim Gajser will compete offered a new challenge for Riggs, whose enthusiasm for dirt-bike racing knows no bounds.
Riggs had positive initial impressions of the track that will host American riders like Tomac, Justin Barcia and North Carolina native Cooper Webb.
“It was pretty gnarly at first, just because I had nothing to judge off of,” Riggs said. “To think of all the great motocross racers who will get to race on this track this weekend, that’s what excites me the most. This is not just American motocross; this is the United States versus the entire world coming together here at Charlotte. I don't think the people who are familiar with motocross understand that you can't afford to miss it. ”

Hoping for sold out crowds, good racing and good weather.
That clay turns to ice once it gets a little wet, thankfully the weather forecast looks like it will be cool(er) and dry all weekend.
MXA just posted some much better photos (than mine) of the track:

There are at least ten real tracks in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia which would have been a far better option.

I always wondered how they shipped those bikes, well I'm guessing those are bikes.
I thought I got lucky and caught that '17 CRF450 rolling into tech.... nope not the bike I'm looking for,
Nothing on the french tv but fortunately the 4 motos are on MotorsTV UK, starting at 11.30am GMT on sunday, 12.30 CET.
He, was a major player in the lunacy that lead to the wrecking of your Road Race series in the US.
Luckily, for US MX, DC and Co got the rights to run US MX, and that has not come to pass - yet. DC and his company may not be perfect in many eyes, but they've been far better stewards of the sport of Motocross, than what DMG would be, or Luongo has been.
I'd be very worried for US MX when the contract comes up for it, again. Charlotte could be what might become 'the norm', if you are not careful.
And, you can be your arse that Luongo still has designs on acquiring US Motocross.
