If they read this forum and felt that it didn't go the best way at first, just contact you: "Sorry, it didn't go the best way, but we like your pictures, how can we keep using those?" and I'm sure there would have been found a good solution.

With the guy like you with a real heart it would have definitely worked out without being too much for anyone!

Maybe even one "Thank You" would have been well enough Smile

SJK, MotoXaddicts had no idea the photos came from here. This morning someone directed me to this thread, so I immediately pulled the post and direct messaged Leget using the Vital message thingy and I explained how we got them. We do not knowingly post photos that we do not have editorial permission to use or have not paid for and we did not know these had neither.

Leget has not responded to my message to him. We will happily put them back up with credits, but we need to know who to credit.
Thanks Dan! It really seems that you and Leget are both really good hearted people and living for the best of the sport! And great to hear you were just doing it the way I also thought it would go well and also contacted Leget.

Sadly there seem to have been a delay or something in communication which left some questions open for some time, but when our hearts are in right place, things will work out eventually and even more people can see and really appreciate that!

I just was up on that end of town and it looks to be coming along pretty good...didn't take any pics as it was just a drive-by....At this point it looks to be just typical NC clay dirt and the track looks to be larger than I thought it was going to be

Former NASCAR Driver, AMA Champion Scott Riggs Tests MXGP SuperCourse at The Dirt Track at Charlotte

On Tuesday, former North Carolina AMA state champion and 2006 Bank of America 500 pole winner Scott Riggs became the first rider to test the purpose-built SuperCourse at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in advance of the Sept. 2-3 Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas

Fans can buy tickets to the high-flying spectacular that is the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas by visiting the speedway’s website or by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267)

CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 30, 2016) – Before the first gate drops for the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas on Sept. 2-3 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, former NASCAR driver and 1986 North Carolina AMA champion Scott Riggs completed a full-speed test run of the challenging, one-mile dirt SuperCourse on Tuesday.

Riggs, who won the pole for both NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2006, is accustomed to zooming around Charlotte’s iconic 1.5-mile superspeedway in a full-bodied stock car. Twisting the throttle and barreling down on a world-class, purpose-built motocross course on which stars like Eli Tomac and Tim Gajser will compete offered a new challenge for Riggs, whose enthusiasm for dirt-bike racing knows no bounds.

Riggs had positive initial impressions of the track that will host American riders like Tomac, Justin Barcia and North Carolina native Cooper Webb.

“It was pretty gnarly at first, just because I had nothing to judge off of,” Riggs said. “To think of all the great motocross racers who will get to race on this track this weekend, that’s what excites me the most. This is not just American motocross; this is the United States versus the entire world coming together here at Charlotte. I don't think the people who are familiar with motocross understand that you can't afford to miss it. ”

TICKETS:
Single-day tickets for the Monster Energy MXGP of the Americas start at $30 plus tax for Friday and $49 plus tax for Saturday. Call 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or shop online to buy tickets and paddock passes.

KEEP TRACK:
Fans can connect with Charlotte Motor Speedway by following on Twitter and Instagram or become a Facebook fan. Keep up with all the latest news and information with the Charlotte Motor Speedway mobile app.

Thanks for posting that Dan, I think this is going to shape up to be a great track.
Hoping for sold out crowds, good racing and good weather.
That clay turns to ice once it gets a little wet, thankfully the weather forecast looks like it will be cool(er) and dry all weekend.

MXA just posted some much better photos (than mine) of the track:

It's nice to see a professional MX race come to the South-East again but holding it at drag strip is an abomination.

There are at least ten real tracks in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia which would have been a far better option.

Dang I can't wait! Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Smoking a brisket with friends, along with the ribs and sausage. Good times!

The start straight is pretty close, though. The 450 guys are going to be hauling balls by the time they get all the way around the first sweeper.

I think some people were talking about the races starting so late in the evening that it would be early Sunday morning for the people in Europe.
The last moto starts at 9pm local time, which would be 3 am on Sunday if you're 6 hours ahead of EST.

Here is a link to the schedule.

Well, this is the 'model' that that Edmonds / Edmondson bloke from DMG / the France Family organization, put forward as his 'vision' for Motocross, when they bought the sport from the AMA. Though, he talked about it being in your 'Super Speedways', not dirt track 1/2 miles.

He, was a major player in the lunacy that lead to the wrecking of your Road Race series in the US.

Luckily, for US MX, DC and Co got the rights to run US MX, and that has not come to pass - yet. DC and his company may not be perfect in many eyes, but they've been far better stewards of the sport of Motocross, than what DMG would be, or Luongo has been.

I'd be very worried for US MX when the contract comes up for it, again. Charlotte could be what might become 'the norm', if you are not careful.

And, you can be your arse that Luongo still has designs on acquiring US Motocross.
