Two predictions that I wouldn't say I'm 100% on but very likely.

1: You have seen James Stewart race his last AMA race as a full time rider, possibly a few SX rounds as a retirement tour.

2: Seven in it's current configuration will not exist in 2 years, possibly taken over by someone like La Jolla Group who will squeeze every drop that's left until there are no drops left. Without the James Stewart of yesteryear to sell it I don't see being able to pay the top riders to compete with Fox/Thor. How many gear companies started in the last 15 years without a PU or WPS still exist? Troy Lee, there's one. Alias is not really trying to compete and if the Geico team wasn't operating I doubt it would continue. I can't think of anyone else, maybe there's someone I'm forgetting.

Edit: Just went to the La Jolla Group website which has this message

"Website Expired This account has expired. If you are the site owner, click below to login."

Well maybe not La Jolla Group.

This is highly unexpected. I thought for sure he would be back this next weekend dropping the hammer down on everyone. Figured he would go out and make Kenny and Eli look like a couple rookies , maybe lap up to 5th place , something like that? Maybe that concussion he suffered back in January is still messing with him. Or wait , maybe it's the kid keeping him up late? The blisters? Still upset about the ban from 2yrs ago? Oh wait.....that's right , it's the shoulder now.

Yes, that would be great and as you said, no matter the results. Though, if he could make it through the whole season, I think those results could be pretty good. But yeah, last 2 years hasn't been great to say the least. I will repeat myself from previous threads like this and say it again: SX and MX is always more interesting with #7 on the gate.

He did win the Straight Rhythm Championship he had to go straight and he had to pin it. It was hot and the sun was bright it wasn't easy.Plus he had to go straight. So all and all another championship season in the books for JS7.Now he can refocus on getting McGraths record for wins in SX and then his NASCAR career.Faster than you faster than me another one like Bubba we might not ever see.
Not dogging on James, but based on his ability to go straight (Straight Rythmn), wouldn't NHRA make more sense than NASCAR.

I hope he finds what he is searching for. If that means he retires, I wish him luck. If he comes back next year, I hope he is healthy, in shape, and challenges for the titles.

Wow, didn't see that coming..... Shocked
What a bummer, he's losing fans by the minute. Sure hope he can pull it together. Sad

Bubba is long gone kid.

You are stuck with good ole #7.

Just retire. That's the best option right now.

I agree, IMO his head and fitness just aren't in it. The skills are still there though.

I'm going to sit at the computer and patiently wait for the video of him riding his practice track and his fans post about how fast and smooth he's riding. "2017 is his year!"

I hear ya and I agree, James get the short end of every situation, whether perceived or in reality. But his perceived lack of commitment since 2010 in discouraging. Think about it, Villopoto came into the class what, 6 years after Stewart and won 6 quick 450 titles and retired all in the time Stewart was barely able to get through 1 whole season(not sure if he has) and had been on 4 different teams. Just sucks, that's all.
I think it's great that James was here before and after RV. Same with Reed. James could have went out at 26 like RV which would have only been a couple years after his last SX championship. Most will probably say he should have, but he had the desire to keep racing and the will to try even if his chances at regaining #1 were bleak.

Holy hell.

I'd rather not watch James then see the James we've seen this season. I hope he comes back ready.

Hey Yosh. James here. Thanks for letting me keep the number, really helps me sell my gear. I'm off on holiday for a few months now, any chance of a bike and salary again next year. I promise to turn up until I get the required points. Wish u were here x

Yes we all agree on what he did on a bike, past tense.
That will never happen again.

Like me " one time my wife and i had sex 3 times in one day" past tense.
That will never happen again.

It seems he's had a bigger entorage and compound than past champs like Rd and rv. That costs money.

He's in his 30s. He can still get his body in wicked shape, lean and great cardio. I don't think he can keep himself off the ground though.

He's never been able to settle for a third place. Seriously , he's going to beat dungey in a 17 round series? A guy who's bad day is a third? I don't see it.

x2, that's exactly what I thought after reading NV825's post.

James WAS one of the fastest guys ever. Well, not anymore and clearly he is not dedicated enough to be one ever again.
Have a kickass retirement JS, please just don't try to make your fans believe that your heart and soul and other parts of your body are still 110% in anymore. I'm a fan and can't bare reading BS about commitment and drive. I just don't buy it at that stage.

Damn, replying in Stewart's post feels like beating a dead horse... Smile

That may very well be true.
Also, my back hurts almost every day, so you don't get to call me a kid.

I'm not a big james fan but if I were him, I wouldn't want to retire like this eighter. He sure won't be championship contender anymore but if there is small chance to get one more win and leave the sport on a better note, I'd give it a shot too.
