Riders were emphasising about keeping hydrated, being key to getting through the summer. Redbull, monster and the other shit will dehydrate you and give you an energy crash. I find it very unlikely they drink that shit. It also has aspartame in it, which is really bad shit!!
It took 12 to get me thru the day, monsters that is. I wish they made it in powder form to snort so i wouldn't piss so much.

OK, what made you think he was complaining about someone telling him to drink RedBull on a podium?

They actually do drink the energy drinks on the podium. It's been confirmed by several "insiders." The drinking of energy drinks is written in their contracts.
You need to find new "insiders"

Not sure if this has been posted I'm surprised I have not seen it anywhere. After his podium speech the camera pans to him sitting down and it looks like he is complaining about someone telling him to drink his redbull during the interview. Anybody else catch this? Guess he didn't realize the cameras were still rolling.

If you pay attention you'll see it opened right before he drinks it. It's water. I'm looking at a Monster "Tour Water" right now looks exactly like a can of Monster. I'm sure they all have it although I've only seen Monster. I 100% guarantee you that they are never drinking the actual crap. Except Roczen and RedBull - but I'm sure not before a race, or right after.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned but I'm too lazy to read the entire thread like I should.

I always thought there was vodka in those cans.

Actually no they don't. The cans look the same but are marked athlete tour water.

where would be the problem if they actually take a view sips of an energy drink after the race/ in between motos? cyclists have small cans of coca cola in their foodbags which they consume during the race to get some sugar and caffeine that can be easily digested.

apart from that, kenny feels the pressure of eli and eli has been in kennys head for years. ken knows that if eli is happy with the bike and fit that eli will be relentless till the end and that means alot more pain. lol

The problem here is not Roczen or his Red Bull, it's Georgia getting all up in his grille 5 seconds after he landed from a 35 min dive-bombing from a Kamikaze pilot. (Kawasaki manufactured the engines for the Zero fighter used in WWII).

Agreed. Give the athletes of the most physically demanding sport in the world a couple minutes before their interview.
Seems like the TV crew could cut to a commercial after the finish to give the winning rider a little break before the interview. Seems counter intuitive to have Georgia asking a question as the rider is completely not paying attention as they try to clean up a little bit.

New moto format... 30min + 2 laps + game of 20 questions with Jenny

I thought he was just motioning that he needs lot's of water right away. At that moment I doubt he cared about what container it was in.

If anyone thinks that these elite athletes are drinking their sponsors energy drinks right after a moto, you're crazy.

I thought the guy asked how much more rough was it that moto and he said he was just slamming into the breaking bumps. He still had water left in the can too.

You want truth? After a long hot moto, 99% of the time what's in the can is water...and that's exactly what they should be drinking. When they drain one full can, they often hand it off to people off the podium for a refill...of more water.

The other 1% of the time? It's an athletic recovery drink.

I'd guess that 50% of the people sitting on the couch watching the race are drinking a mix of water and fermented grains, and it shows in their posts.

Maybe 25% are drinking energy drinks.

The other 25% are a mix of fell asleep, are being browbeat by their wives/girlfriends, or are still trying to figure out how to watch the races. Then they bitch about it on Vital's forum.

He's talking about Cairoli. That'd be Red Bull. Monster is the one that does tour water. I've yet to see a Red Bull equivalent.

The A6M carrier fighter used Nakajima Sakae-series engines.

I agree, though, that she pounced on him too fast. On the other hand, it's live TV -- she has a producer with the big picture of the clock and the next commercial break talking in her ear.

Plus, the last thing I ever thought of after racing 35+ minutes with my heart rate at or around 190+ beats per minute was "I could really use a drink that will raise my heart rate even higher!"
