As he has since he has been on that blue bike. It must have been a Herculean effort to stay in front of Chad with all the swapping, casing jumps, hestitation in corners--his whole race just looked painful.

There's something seriously wrong with him or that bike, but I forsee a monumental catastrophe if he continues to run that pace with whatever it is going on...

To run that pace and expect every lap to be SX perfection isnt going to happen. I think i seen Chad make a few little mistakes myself. I think they dont have bike issues they have suspension issues. And guess what he still WON. If they get the suspension dialed in it will be another yawner. James said it himself "Chad was faster than me tonight" and he still couldnt seal the deal!

The bike looked like the rebound was fast. It was hitting him in his ass more times then not.

Funny...I thought James said the bike was great going into this season. And I would guess he rode the Yamaha before he signed with them (yes, that would be the same Yamaha that Reed won the championship on). And he finished pretty damn far ahead of the rest of the pack. Maybe Chad is as fast as a 2-time SX champion should be. Nah, that can't be it...right?

Stewart was making mistakes in his heat. Reed looks like he belongs on the 'Zook.

Huh? He's 30 seconds in front of 3rd place just like last year. He looks good on the bike to me. Maybe it's just that Chad doesn't look so bad this year, more like the Chad from a few years ago.

I hope he doesnt wad up in practice like he has done so many times and quit, I'd like to see him finish the series win lose or draw. But so far it looks either the yamahop will bite him if the yamabog doesnt.

I noticed the suspension also. I wonder if he is trying to run a similar setup to wha the ran on the kawi and the yamaha jsut doesn't work the same?????? Grant's susp seemed to work a little better. I did see Bubba square off a few corners and slide the rear end around. last week it seemed unable to do it???

Um it was Stewart himself that said the bike was great and that they had moved to the next level from when Reed was riding it. He keeps "improving it" and he won't finish the year.

Yama-hop went out in 1981 with the monoshock.

But since you seem so sure about it, why don't we discuss it in here....

He's gotta get that thing to turn better. He's tiptoeing around turns, not at all like James Stewart normally rides.

he does look a little different than the james we're used to, casing jumps, getting squirrely in the whoops. Bike or not, he does look different.

How many times do people have to point out that Yamaha's don't turn?

yeah.. but james said he was only at 70% last year when reed finished within a second at pheonix.... now he's at 100% and reed did the same... sounds like a lot of improvement on reeds part Smile

When Joe Bag-For-A-Belly weekend riders says it, its ignored as shit-talk.

But now we see the man that many considered the fastest SX rider ever clunk around on it awkwardly.

Seriously, watching James on that track from last night, I thought when he took off his helmet it would turn out that it was actually Mr. Bean...

Do they give out trophies for fastest lap time of the night?

Chad definitely looks more comfortable, and James will say whatever gets him paid in interviews. But how about Josh Grant showing that he will be on the podium more often than not (I know it doesn't mean much from a grant fan).

Either way, it's looking to be an exciting season and there is no doubt Reed is way faster than he was last year.

Of course, and they don't give out any trophy for not finishing.

I thought it looked allot better than A1. He was still really loosing it in the whoops, that used to be his strong point & CR has gotten better in them. If he can settle down the back, I think it will start to come together.

-James may look horrible, but i couldn't make that post after he just won a main.
-James looked better on Kawis
-Chad looks better on suzis
-That said a yami is still leading the points
Funny how all of sudden the yami is killing james but that was never a factor for reed 04-08.
-Chad has upped his game and it seems like he is on a bike that he can rider faster. James is having some growing pains in the house of blue and those two factors has closed the gap between them. The real winners in this: the fans.
