Can't believe I'm typing that last sentence talking about Bubba, but it is what it is.
Good luck James.
oh you were serious.
Edit: on the last post, not the 24-0 comment I get that was sarcasm.
just want to see him finish both moto's first .... stay healthy , results will come if he gets good starts and is able to keep up with the top 10
Hope James just finishes decent and improves week to week. We all know what the guy is capable of on any day, but I want to see him last the series. I would not bet on it though, but I love watching the guy when he is on it, there's no one like him.
I get nostalgic late in riders careers and pull for them to finish their careers strong. I am a fan of the sport, from a riding standpoint I don't like one more than the other typically I root for great racing and gnarly stuff that reminds me Im a mortal on a bike. In regard to Stewart I want to see him rebound (which doesn't necessarily mean he gets back to prior glory), Ive said it before, I didn't really root for him but never rooted against him. I love great riding whether its in first or last I want to see them amaze me. I don't think its realistic that he wins tomorrow or even competes for a podium, I just don't think "race pace" will be something he has considering his absence. What I would consider a success for him; get a decent start get comfortable riding in tight spaces (with others around) some could argue not a strong point for him as most of his life he hasn't had too, settle into a non "FMOTP" pace and gain some ground throughout the moto maybe a 15th-10th place finish, complete both motos and move onto next week.
Problem is that's not really in his nature. His whole life hes been a winner on the bike. Can he ride his way back to a contender and complete a season? I sure would like to see it, but again, not in his DNA and being honest time is not on his side. If he wants to reestablish any portion of his legacy he needs to find a way to start competing sooner than later. But going out in round 1 and trying to podium, little lone win has way more risk than reward for him IMO and may take him our of competition much sooner than a 10th. All that said if you go out ride a comfortable pace and let the race to come to you and a podium or win presents itself great!
I am certainly not rooting or hoping that he doesn't finish, and truly believe he can finish not only a moto, but multiple motos and even the season given the right expectations on his part, and willingness to sacrifice some race/moto wins podiums for the greater good.
I'm still a huge fan of the guy, but I just hope he can show that he still has some "Bubba" left in him. It would be the coolest thing ever if he'd give Dungey & Roczen a run for their money!
Pit Row
On the up side...Tickle, Dungey, Canard & Martin look super smooth!
Oh come on haters. Again, I said didn't say he'd do that. I'm just enjoy the thought. I truly just hope he can stay healthy, but for fun, like if you won the lotto, it's fun thought.
Whatever happens, Stew's still one of the baddest dudes in the history of the sport.
