How I found it when it was for sale

Making a start, only prob pulling down was the rear brake master bolts stripped out. Probably because of my $2 Allen key set. Lol

Looks good so far, great color combo on the subframe and frame. Whats the plan for plastics and graphics?

Nice.. looking forward to seeing the final product.. is that color a neon yellow? I would keep the graphics and seat color yellow and black and not add a 3rd color. Should look stunning.

Keep it coming. Nothing better than complete bike rebuilds. Way more interesting than following the pro racing.

Hey guys, thanks for the encouragement. Colour of frame is neon yellow. Sub, swingarm and frame guards are textured matte black. The colour of the frame has come out so well that it has kind snookered me a bit for the plastics plan now. The factory yellow looks dirty beside it. Possibly may have to go RMZ neon fender, black tank and shrouds with neon graphics kit to keep the yellow? I don't like all black bikes and really want to keep a fair bit of yellow content.

Engine, just a freshen up to stock (won't be a race bike just man cave dweller). Lots of bikes been done with the soda blast to look new stock, so I went the old "wire brush warrior" route. Small wire brush attachments on die grinder for detail.
I couldn't ride one of these when I had one
on the track in 02/03 (hence went 4 stroke) so I couldn't imagine why anyone would be searching for more HP or cringe when I hear people trying to change the power curve to be like a YZ.

Hey dude. Suggestion for your plastic situation, look up 991's build, I think he's mr Bling on Thumpertalk, he fit RMZ airbox, rear end, shrouds etc to the two stroke frame with some simple fab work... You'd be able to run some neon plastic then... I think the shrouds look like shit though so you might need to stay black or white.

Why are you not using the ride engineering 1 piece bar mount with the ride engineering clamps?
