Attention Guy B

Don't know if this is the right place to do this but are you open to suggestions about who we would like on the Q & A. Definitely don't want to shit on Mike's session before it ends because, as I'm sure many people will agree, he has been outstanding.

Anyway I would like to suggest Paul Malin. I remember listening on a Pulp Mx podcast & he comes across as having a very good memory about the bikes he rode, tracks, riders etc. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will wanna ask him about his 94 Des Nations win.

If this is the wrong place the please delete.

Honestly I think we should just leave it as is. I don't think we as a group would've voted for MA800, but I'm glad he came on here. But we woulda voted for RC4.... and that left a little to desire.

Besides, I think the biggest issue is getting the riders to say yes. With as much as Alessi gets shit on, I was really suprised to see him here. I'm sure lots of riders aren't keen on giving up time to weed through keyboard warriors to answer a few legitimate questions. (Not that it goes that way, but speaking from how a rider is probably assuming it'll go)

I'd been working on Mike to do it for a while...and we were sort of waiting for the right time to do it.

I'm open to let just about any rider (past or present) spend some time here for a QNA. Same goes for mechanics, team personnel, OE or aftermarket manufacturers, tuners, trainers, etc.

I've never chatted with Paul, but it could be interesting.

I'm just curious, what made this the right time?
I'd like to hear from Decoster, Emig, Villipoto, Hahn brothers, JLaw, Stewart brothers, and Reed. Some mechanics would be cool too, more so the older guys thatve worked with several riders.

That he had the time to do it (it shows in how he's participated), that he's had a good season (less likely to catch flack), and that he'd just won the two-stroke race a couple weeks ago.

I'm into having nearly anyone do it who wants a crack at it. It could be riders (past or present), OE or aftermarket honchos, trainers, tuners, mechanics, privateers, truck drivers, etc.

I'd be up for having Paul do it, but I can't say I've ever talked to him.

Of course I'd love to see Roger do it, but I haven't checked with him about it. Same with Emig and RV. Both Hahn brothers have already been in. Actually, here's link to a list of participants we've had so far. http://www.vitalmx.com/tags/forum_qna_vital_feature

No.

Edit...

And apparently it's going to cost Mike a hopped-up zero turn lawnmower with a Kicker system. Wink

I'd like to hear from DC. I know it might be tough to get the old guys on here but my wish list would be: Marty Smith, Jimmy Weinert, Tony DeStefano, Guy Cooper and that Travis Pastrami guy. This whole QNA thing is pretty cool. Good work GuyB.

What about Pastrana? I think that'd be pretty neat.

GuyB, can you start a new forum where all of these can be archived in one place so we can go back and read them? Maybe I missed it but I didn't see a place where they all go to live once the session is over.

Momma Alessi made that thread better than it already was. Pretty funny stuff.

Although having Mike Alessi onboard would be a huge deal, especially since few here have any filter of any kind...can you imagine the character-assasination shit storm it would be to have James & Malcolm Stewart on...or James by himself?

We might break the internet. Blink

I donno, I only saw one negative post in the Alessi thread and GuyB took it down. If everybody would play nice I bet more guys would be willing to do it.

The only problem I forsee with James is people asking too many questions. Might need to implement a one question rule, where the forum only allows you to make one post in that thread and maybe temp ban anyone that asks more than one question in their post.

Temp banning is a bit harsh don't you think? I normally think of a few, hopefully interesting questions, then maybe the next day, I'll think of another one.

Robbie Reynard would be good.

I'd suggest submitting all of the questions to GuyB and have him post a list for JS7 to answer. That's more of just an interview and takes away some of the fan interaction, but JS7 would be just grabbing random questions regardless.

Yeah, little extreme but gotta do something to keep people from breaking the rule. I usually ask several questions, but then again Gared Steinke and Mike Alessi just aren't going to generate the participation you'd see in a Stewart QnA. If we could ask as many questions as we want, and expect Stewart to answer every single one... well we might break a vitalmx record.

I get where you're coming from. Maybe 3 questions each & if you go over that then that question would be deleted?

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the MX des Nations at Maggiora. They're back there again this year.

Make it a 2 parter:

Johnson, O'Mara, Bailey 1st week

Mechanics, Team Managers 2nd week.

3 questions might be fine, I'm sure GuyB would allow something reasonable. The problem I see with addition questions just getting deleted, is people throwing in addition questions because there's no consequence and thus putting more strain on mods to delete those.
Don't get me wrong, temp banning people sucks but a rule without consequence really isn't much of a rule.

Regardless of how it could go, I'd be stocked to see either of the Stewart brothers on here. Honestly, I think every QnA is awesome even when it's people I don't have a question for. Always interesting to see what they get asked and their answers.

I get the feeling that a James QnA would probably go a lot like RC's did; tons of questions with very little interaction by him. If Steve can get him here, though, I hope I'm wrong. A Mookie thread would probably be pretty damn cool though. Bradshaw would be another good one.
