Tortelli's 1998 factory KX250 was my dream bike when I was a young. It was really cool when he beat Stefan Everts aboard on a factory Honda in that season and won world championship title. I still have 1998 season highlights VHS tape stored somewhere in my parent's house.

I had those graphics and seatcover on my 97 KX250 when I worked for Tecnosel

Wow this is going to look amazing. It seems like Emig's bike might be the latest trend in vintage rebuilds.

I'm still bitter that 1997 is considered vintage. It seems like just yesterday. I just recently started collecting parts for an Emig bike.

I think it has more to do with the growth of the four strokes. Fact is, most 2t development basically stopped over a decade ago.

It's amazing, isn't it Paul? This should be one epic bike.

Hi all! I've decided to finally create a thread on my build. I'm a friend of Chucks so expect a lot of updates.

The plan is to build a works Jeff Emig 97 or Sebastian Tortelli 98 SR 250 replica. I have parts that both riders may have used/raced with.

I started collecting parts February 2015 and before I knew it I now have a lot of the parts.

Jeff Emig 1997

Sebastian Tortelli 1998

Hi I've got some works forks. 97 nitrogen bladder forks dual chamber. Only thins is they have been pulled apart. My problem is the bladder and piston/valve assembly I need a manual or pictures to see how it goes back together. Have you had yours apart? Could you email me pictures

Im also building a 2000 Travis Pastrana machine which has taken over 3 years so far that will probably finish in 2020 haha. So if anybody are reading this, I need works Suzuki parts - rear wheel, discs (slotted holes), gear lever, callipers, magnesium casings etc, I have a collection of parts including the 'almost impossible' to find suspension. I'll post a thread on that in the future..
I have some parts that you are looking for so you can move on with the 2000 Pastrana replica. Please send me an email, wheelboy16@aol.com. I will send you pictures and fill you in on the back story of the pieces I have available.

Thanks, Chris

Update time!

Full SR250 engine & frame. And a very unique works Jan de Groot swing arm.

Huge thanks to Mike and Hans collecting, crate and ship these parts for me.

Fitted the 25mm Khi rear axle and carrier to get an idea how it will look. Still need magnesium Khi axle blocks, titanium nut for axle and the titanium chain adjuster bolts I have but not in pics.

Very cool Pat.

Sure it'll be a beauty. What look will it have?

Fro or Seb?

Either. I have Sebs seat, and original graphics from 98. Plus the boyesen covers and it'll mostly have Jan de Groot parts. But I can easily just swap the plastics, seat, clutch/ignition covers to berg etc and make it a Emig one too. Me and Chuck have endless debates about this.. lol

Haha awesome.

Any idea on who's bikes the frame and motor originated from?

Nice find on the frame for sure. Going to be a sweet bike. Man does it take lots of time to build these kind of bikes. Btw what year is that swing arm from? I have learned it's been a rough road on getting the rear end to set up on my 99. I have finally managed to find a good set up on 230mm rear brake with my Khi hubs. I have been through like 3 carriers. I had the one like you have. It only would work up to 96 I believe and the swing arm changed in 97. The career worked Fine I just couldn't get the wheel and disc to work. I finally have the set ups righ, but it was trial and error. Seems like yours is going to be good to go. Nice build for sure.
