Lye bath or spray oven cleaner removes anodize. The top clamp has a cast finish and the lower clamp is more polished, thats how they came. Look into marine vinyl and get some samples sent. I found the 90's match for purple a while back. The shop in Vietnam (or wherever it is) will make/print on supplied vinyl. He has the wrong purple, was going to do that for my 94 but found NOS cover.

Your collection is so badass I’m trying start the same with the early pre ktm husky’s I have a 2002 ex FBF bike and Evans ,Thomas ,Lamson and Plotts jerseys from the team just need get them framed. I just found 1991 I’m restoring also. I’m like you have no interested in riding the bikes they mean more to me having them inside in good condition to keep them like that for hopefully my lifetime .

11/24/2022 3:05am Yes but you need to change the power valve lever that comes out of the clutch cover to suit I’ve got a 2000 cylinder on my 98 and had to do it to make it work

That is a stock alluminum inner case hard anodized and the outter cover is the mysterious "dx" coating. This "dx" coating is more of a hammered finish krypton spray paint with matter clear over the top. If I'm correct the color is amber rose.

In my opinion replica parts won’t de value an original/works part... is an SR 250 worth any less because KX 250s exist??? Or is a genuine fender or rad panel worth less because UFO or a.n other is making replicas??? Just my thoughts, I would be happy with some replica carbon parts but still excited to see a genuine piece...

Works KYB dual adjuster rear shock 
Factory KYB magnesium Clutch, waterpump and ignition covers (these took a few years to find!!) The KHI 125 stuff is so much rarer than the 250 stuff.

I actually started searching for parts over 5 years ago - I’d always planned to build a 1998 SplitFire bike alongside my 1992 Peak Honda. To me, the '98 is the best looking 2 stroke team bike Pro Circuit ever built. Then years ago, I stumbled upon the original decals/seat cover for the 92 Peak bike and so this project got parked somewhat. Lets hope he didn't send the parts to 718 for a rustoleum "DX" paint job. Odds are if he did the parts are long gone.
