most likely motowhips is outsourcing any hardcoating, as its a bit more complex. hardcoating is high high voltage (or current, cant remember) and usually a chilled acid bath due to temps. so the equipment is more $ than type II.
i have a brake master cylinder coming back from cerakote next week. i can send over a picture to show what it looks like. cant really get a thin matte looking finish with powdercoat.
But i ride the 300sx at 3 palms and swan up in tyler. may be going out sunday to 3palms. feel free to hit me up if youre planning a ride.
like anything, key is usually to find a smaller shop that can hook you up on price.
he is doing it for 40$ and i will definitely post a picture when it comes in.
I have a spare cover off something he can coat or possibly some cylinders. Let me see what I have laying around and I'll have him do it.
The bronze look is easy to achieve in a matte.
As for durability, if it is done properly and sealed correctly, using nickel acetate as the sealing bath, it can take boot rubbing a lot longer than most anodizing out there. Cerakote is cool stuff too.
I'd like to see the finished pics as well.

Triple clamps wont come out the same as other parts because they are cast. You can get the hubs pretty close to the clamps, enough to not tell the difference, but they will be hard to match other pieces that are billet or bar stock. Different grain structures color differently.
