You could also say the same about those who think Dungey is on a 'whole other level'.

Roczen beat Dungey at the opeing three rounds last year, then injured himself going for a ballsy pass on Reed for the lead at Oakland. Over the next three or four rounds they got the better of each, before Roczen f**ked his leg during qualifying at Atlanta.

Last year Roczen got good starts, this year he's struggled with them while Dungey has (more often than not) started top three. Thats been the only real difference so far, they're otherwise pretty well matched if you ask me.

What RC "exposed", was that he theorized MC might not train hard enough to run his blitzing pace for an entire 20 laps. RC trained to do just that, and poof, there was his answer. MC always said he'd holeshot, or at least get to the front in the first lap or two, then lay down a series of hot laps to gap the field. Once there, he'd just cruise to the finish. He wasn't prepared for RC to match his pace early AND be able to run it the full 20.
As for Kenny exposing anything on RD, I simply don't know what he exposed last night. Maybe that on a tight track, and an aggressive nature against a guy who has a full race lead, that perhaps you can hold him off. Well, based on last night, I'd say that's true. Although it looked to me like RD was pacing Kenny until the latter half of the race where he'd hoped Kenny would crack. He reeled Kenny in to less than a second pretty quick around lap 12, and even when the lappers and a Dungey rythm mistake opened the gap back to 1.5 seconds, Dungey closed the gap back up inside of two laps. Dungey was going for the win from what I could see, but I doubted he was going to try anything stupid to win a single race when he didn't need to.
And allow me to add, Kenny did ride great last night. I see these two going at it the rest of the season.

It was bizarre because dungey pulled roczen in a couple of sections and roczen stretched it back out in a couple of sections and it overall stayed even. I was trying to figure out what roczen was doing differently than dungey in the sections he was faster but couldn't really see it. Dungey had a slightly different line several places he was faster.

We were trying to figure out where the time being made up was, but it was in several sections.

It was a damn good race, one would make a mistake, the other would get up. Lappers got in the way but thats racing.
What I noticed is that Dungey made his time up in the whoops and wall. He lost time however going way outside after going under the over-under. Roczen wasn't and stretched it back out. Also, I noticed both of them lost traction in the corner before the quad and weren't able to do it every lap.

We already know that Kroc is a champion so why is anyone surprised that he can beat Dungey. I am not ,but the question is who can beat Dungey consistently enough to win the championship and I would say almost no one. I am sure Tomac and Canard and a few others will put in a ride or two to get the nut swingers talking but unless they can do it EVERY round then they are just dreaming. Cool

Yes, thats exactly the way it was.....It also seemed that Roczen tightened up and made some mistakes that allowed Dunge to get close. That jump combo before you got to the on-offs also let Dunge catch up...

I took it more as dungey could have taken it up a notch for the win, but, he is smart enough to know when second is good enough, instead of possibly getting hurt and ruining the title run.... Just how I saw it...

I'm seeing a lot of bullshit about dungey riding safe, bullshit! Dungey rode his ass off last night trying to make it happen he wasn't protecting no points lead. I think dungey is out for redemption he had to play second fiddle to RV because he chose to follow decoster and build a bike it took balls for sure. Dungey knows what roczen is capable of and doesn't want him building any confidence he wanted that win.

This....... It also appeared to me that KR may have gone a bit anaerobic and RD just cruised it to the finish. My guess is if that is the case.....RD needs to press KR real hard ........KR needs some intense 20 lap moto's during the week.
