Fault has nothing to do with it. It is probability. Trey is too comfortable riding 6" from other guys. Things that made Dungey cringe at 24" do not phase Trey at 12". Probability takes care of the rest. In the short run, nothing is his fault. In the long, his increased incidence of crashes IS his fault. It is like playing poker. Anything can happen on one hand...but the long run determines how good of a player you are.

I have a video of that first turn but I can't figure out how to get it off my iPhone and post here without going through dropbox or something like that

He has an uncanny knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He also finds ways to hit the ground on his own. Almost a lapse of attention. How he rides and the probabilities is likely spot on as well. The guy is certainly one of the nicest guys and I'd like to see him be a regular on the podium, he has the raw speed at times, but something will have to change for that to happen. It really puts into perspective how impressive what Dungey is doing really is. Speed and consistency are a formidable combination.

I didn't like really how he took Dungey out at A1 either. If you where to cut someone off or block someone which is ok you should at least be a little ahead, or getting in front of and the other guy should have the option to break or back off, but just running into someone leaving no room at all is taking someone out, which I call dirty riding. The only situation when I see it as ok is when someone is blocking a faster guy from passing for quite some time, but I don't think Dungey was circulating holding Canard back.

Anyone who likes a lesson in keeping out of trouble in the most difficult situation possible, yet keeping the head cool and coming out on top can review the Craig Webb battle in A2 last weekend. Just look how Webb is handling it. The guy is a pro rider all through.

Trey's inability to avoid early trouble is and has been his Achilles' Heel. He simply has to adjust things to find a way to make it through the first lap or two without incident. If that means consciously riding conservatively until he has a clear track, so be it. You have to finish it to win it. JMO
I know that goes against every racer's instinct, but I agree here. I want him to win so bad, but the first laps haven't been good to him.

BTW, anybody notice how Trey was wearing red gloves in his heat race, but switched to white gloves for the rest of the day when his hand was hamburgered up? LOL. It definitely helped the TV folks show how bad his hand was chewed up.

Um, Max could only find size large gloves in the white. You guys are incredible. Or something else.

im guessing it was to cover his bandages..... he is the last person to look for sympathy points or to be dramatic. he could probably go the rest of his life and be fine with no more attention to injuries.

I also thought that was completely stupid to use white gloves if his hand was bleeding.

Why?

It's a non-issue either way. He was bleeding.

So what. Who cares. He's not Deadpool.

Maybe you mis understood Trey's moms comment ?

Translation- he normally wears a size medium glove. He needed a size LARGE to be able to ride. Possibly using a pair of Weston Peicks gloves to finish the night out....

Have you ever tried to ride with hamburger hands ? I'm sure with the swelling and/or bandages, he needed a bigger glove to fit his hands into. Hopefully that made it a little easier to comprehend.

Mom, one of us is reading each other's context wrong. I wasn't saying anything negative about Trey there so I hope you weren't perceiving it that way. I figured there was a circumstance why Trey would be wearing white gloves like that. I can't think of anything I have ever read or seen of Trey trying to portray himself as tough. I did appreciate how the white glove added reality to what Trey was toughing through though, that had to hurt.

Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk when you get called out by a superior in the moto world.

You really are an idiot. Your post here (and all of the rest for that matter) are proof that there should be an age limit to post on Vital.

#1. There was never anything negative mentioned about anybody in the posts above. #2, there is at least a few people left in this world that value respect and I am one of them. I give respect, I appreciate it back.

Grow up dude.

I can't speak for my mom but I know it's been a bit much seeing so many people bad mouth trey on here for going on 3 weeks. There's been at least a topic a week. You can say all you you want about "just don't read" but we are fans of the sport as well. This is a for the most part a fun place to go. Lately though it's just hoping that whatever topic about how dangerous and dumb trey is disappears for the day. You are entitled to your opinion and I'm not gonna argue...just saying it's tough to read so much negativity about someone so close to me. It's heart breaking enough to see him struggle on nights like A2 (btw I tried to get him black gloves in time but couldn't run fast enough lol).

Yell at me all you want. Just tired of being quiet....and can't sleep!!!

I think nearly everyone here, myself included, who has criticised Trey, can recognise and appreciate his speed and talent, and see what a great guy he is. Many of the people on here that have given some criticism have actually stated that they are fans of Trey and the criticism comes through frustration. Nearly every rider on the gate has had criticism at some point on here, it's just the way it goes. Trey still has a lot of fans and is still as popular as he always has been. I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't be happy to see him do well, but I also don't think it's out of order to comment on some of his mistakes
